Yep, Orndoff was the one glaring exception that immediately popped out to me. Although, I can't really comment much on the TE's that got selected ahead of him other than Bucky Hodges of VT.
I don't know any of their numbers, but watching every one of the guys on the first 3 teams I was impressed with them. But to say Orndoff, one of the best receiving TEs in America, is not even worth an honorable mention selection is flat out laughable.

Also thought biz should've been first team, but not an easy call. Tons of talented players in the ACC on almost every team.

Says a lot about the ACC that Trubisky is 3rd team and Peterman and his ACC-leading 161.2 efficiency rating don't even get a mention. Odd that there were no honorable mention QBs.

That honorable mention list was incredibly odd. Is there an ACC kicker that didn't make one of these teams? Really strange.

Except Hodges basically never plays TE, so pretty ridiculous to slot him there.

Jordan Whitehead making the team tells you a lot about pre-season expectations coasting you to a selection. Wow. Every other Pitt player was deserving with arguments to even be higher.

I agree that Biz and O'Neill should each be one spot higher. Regardless, very well deserved for every player who made the list. Congratulations!

Scott Orndoff being left off that list is borderline criminal. Especially with the emphasis Pitt had on the running game for most of the year.

Orndoff was kinda Peterman's security blanket while Jester Weah gained confidence and experience and Dontez Ford out with injury.

Leggett 34-588-5 17.3
Orndoff 33-558-5 16.9
Hikutini 49-656-8 13.4
Hodges 42-598-7 14.2
Samuels 49-461-4 9.4
Njoku 38-654-7 17.2

They also should recognize the FB position - George Aston deserves a mention with the season he had.

Go Pitt.
That is for sure, a forgotten position that has been discarded by some teams, but still used by many.
No one else at that position in the country had as good a year as George Aston. He also plays on all kick off teams, punt teams and fg/xp as well.... has a blocked punt and fumble recovery. He is an All American.

So your evidence that Orndoff not making one of the teams was borderline criminal is a list that shows all the guys who made it had more catches that Orndoff and all but one of them had more receiving yards?

Jester Weah has 800 yards and 9 TD's. He also has a 24 yard per catch average, 2nd highest in the last 5 years in all of college football. That is the biggest ripoff on this list. And Weah played on a team that ran the ball 67% of the time.

It just goes to show that there was no consensus top kicker (or two) this year. The least number of points for a player on the first team at any other position was 86. The first team kicker only got 47 points.

Mike Williams, 79 catches, 1114 yards, 10 tds
Amba Etta-Tawo, 94 catches, 1482 yards, 14 tds
Ryan Switzer, 91 catches, 1027 yards, 5 tds
Jester Weah, 34 catches, 795 yards, 9 tds

It looks like he ended up 8th in the conference in receiving yards and tied for 29th in the conference in catches (assuming I didn't miss anyone). We really can't figure this out?

Stacey Coley had 700 yards and was 3rd team.

He also had 58 catches, and he had 9 tds as well.
-So the number of recpetions a player has determines if he is worthy of being all acc? That's like saying you would have have a baseball player that gets more singles than home runs. Weah is worthy because his total yards, ypc, and TD numbers are all strong and he played on the best offense in the acc.

Key on steel_curtains last setence then you'll get the point. If you're still having problems figuring out his point then drown yourself.

Yeah, the number of receptions a guy has does matter when you are deciding who should be on the all conference team at wide receiver. How could anyone think otherwise?

Ahmmon Richards made the friggin 2nd team and he scored a total of 2 TD's for the entire season. TWO

Gimme a break. 2 Touchdowns for the entire season and you get All ACC 2nd Team?

The point is that steel gets confused sometimes. I mean he doesn't think that the number of catches a wide receiver had should have any bearing on if that guy is all conference or not.

No I dont. Not when you have the 2nd highest Yard Per Catch average in all of college football over the last 5 years.

Not when you have 800 yards receiving and 9 TD's to boot.

And Not when Pitt has the best offense in the ACC that runs the ball 67% of the time.

Maybe you missed the yards per reception.

Oh, and the fact that I said Pitt was a heavy run based team early.

I didn't miss it at all. I think you can make a case for him that is approximately as good as some of the other guys. But that doesn't mean that someone thinking the other guy's being a little better is criminal. It's not like we're talking about Larry Fitzgerald not getting picked over someone like Jester Weah. You're talking about a bunch of similar guys.

-A player that scored 2 TD's is not even debatable. Its dumb.

WRs that play in a run oriented offense don't catch as many passes. ie Bama WRs generally don't get the numbers like WRs at UNC. Only bustin your stones Joe.
