I'm winging this pretty quickly off the top of my head, so feel free to suggest other players over the ones I'm including. I'm also omitting guys who I think might get drafted in the future. But consider this a rough draft team, with a more polished one to come.

How many games do you think this team would win this year? Can we put together a team of undrafted guys who could challenge for the ACC?

QB - Yarnell (I guess... ? Maybe Slovis.)
RB - Hall
TE - Orndoff
WR - Weah
WR - Ffrench
WR - Mack
(Might go with Aston over the 3 WR set)
T - Jones-Smith, Millin
G - Hargrove, Bookser
C - Moore

DE - Alexandre, Baldonado
DT - Jarrett, Camp
LB - Idowu, Galambos, Kylan Johnson (we could debate these all day, so I'm just throwing three out there)
S - Ford, McIntyre
CB - Williams, Lewis

Initial Conclusion: Maybe like an 8-4 team this season.

I'd put Jared Wayne in there at WR. Other than that, nice first draft. 7-5 or 8-4 sounds right.

I’d probably swap petrishen for idowu. Agree with the rest.

Yeah the linebackers just have me dazed and confused. I was a Wirginis fan, but I don't know if I could tell you the difference between him, Simon, or Galambos in the middle. Went with the one I remember the least, lol. Grigsby and Brima both hung around the NFL for a bit. Not sure about Petrishen vs Campbell vs Idowu vs DeShields vs a few others. I thought I remembered Idowu making 2nd Team All ACC one year, but I could be nuts.

All in all, this feels like a telling exercise. Lots of guys are interchangeable, and NFL talent matters, lol. Because if I just made an All-Narduzzi Team, I think you'd have a national championship contender instead of 8-4ish.

Great topic!

Cool concept i like it.

Are we talking about what they were at Pitt or what they became after Pitt?

People might think I'm crazy, but if it includes what they became, I may pick Ben Denucci as QB. Cignetti played to his strengths and limited his weaknes at JMU.

the back field certainly have Ashton on the field a lot. Hall is a great choice and my pick too. As a backup

The WRs I like your group but I would also add Dontez Ford.

TE can't go wrong with Ornforff, but I want to say I always felt Austin Matthew's was out of position and should have been a TE his whole career.

OL you got the main ones but I would throw Houy in there.

DE I would add Dwayne Hendrix into the rotation.

Dt you got the top 2 and i would throw Amir Watts and in the mix.

LBand DBs you hit the nail on the head.

I think DiNucci ended up going in the 7th round, but I could be wrong on that one. Probably because, as you mentioned, JMU better accentuated his talents.

I go with Voytik at QB. Dinucci was a late draft pick by Dallas.

Maybe, but I don't think he even won the starting job at Arkansas State. I'd actually probably go with Slovis right now after thinking about it. But the choices are akin to deciding what I want off the McD's dollar menu.

Not sure how Weah makes anyone's all-anything team.

Canada knew all the guy could do was run fast in a straight line so he had one good season essentially as a specialist--a sideline fly route runner who was the one and only deep threat we had. He just wasn't much of a football player. I don't think I'd put him on the Narduzzi top 20 WR list.

I'd like to see a thread on the all-Narduzzi spring presser hero team. Guys that Dooz singled out and talked up a ton to the media during spring camp.

Mine would start with Shockey Jacues-Louis. Jurk would be the QB for sure.

I admit to forgetting about Wayne, but I mean the list of solid WRs under Narduzzi is pretty scanty. Who else is even in the conversation? Q Henderson and maybe Mumpfield?

I don't think there's a close second when it comes to per-player miss rate on positional recruits under Narduzzi. Our WR recruiting has largely sucked.

Off the top of my head....

You have a DE with 7 career sacks and 10 career TFLs on your list?

At TE, if we're counting players like Orndoff and Aston that were on the roster before Dooz took over, JP Holtz and Orndoff are your guys and third place is a long way down from them.

You have Hall as a backup #1 RB to a fullback?

Aaron Matthews never played TE and wasn't big and strong enough to play it in a pro-style offense, so not sure where he comes into this discussion of the best UDFAs under Narduzzi....

QB, TE, and WR have largely been brutal. LB has not been great. there have been a couple of individual studs but the position group as a whole has never been strong.

Pretty sure in his 9 years Dooz only has 2 guys that played LB at Pitt in the NFL--and one of them was a ND guy who was only at Pitt for his last 2 seasons.

I did not proof read that is why it's so clunky and has an incomplete thought. Hall is my starter. Ashton would be on the field a lot but he is not starting above Hall, that is stupidness. The incomplete comment was my backup would have been Sibley despite him never being a starter. Obviously I was not in practice, but to me he was the most complete back and it frustrated me when he didn't get the ball on short yardage situations.

I didn't realize JP Holtz was with Duzz at all. I was going by memory and thought he was a Chryst guy. If he was with Duzz you are 100% correct about TE.

I liked Mathews and thought he was horribly misused here. He was a big target and a good blocker, if he committed to the weight room he could of bulked up to TE. If memory serves me right, the TEs we had at that time were nothing special.

I was actually thinking Holtz was drafted, but it looks like he wasn't. He'd be my first choice now.

All in all, Holtz, Orndoff, Krull, and Bartholomew were pretty good tight ends. Unfortunately, they only account for 5 of the 9 seasons Narduzzi had been here, and there have been some adventures in the other 4.
