I used to date a girl who lived in Bedford, I asked her what they did for fun and they said they'd go to Altoona. I laughed out loud, thinking it was a joke.. it wasn't.August 24. Their website says player appearances TBA. Pretty good idea. Pitt is PSU's biggest rival for Western PA and Central PA fans. Philly and NJ fans don't care as much.

I'd expect pitt fans to be outnumbered here..
was at a game where bethel park played them in high school so I saw the Brashear bullets play. he was a bad dude, fun as heck to watch for the eers. of course pitt would have recruited him as a de-back, that's just what pitt does. She could have gone to see Mike Izzoulino and Doug West play hoops for the Lions back in the day....Still remember watching that team with two future NBA players getting knocked out of the state playoffs at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena (aka "The Mecca") by Brashear. Brashear had a kid by the name of Major Harris, you may have heard of him.
Now, I myself played a high school playoff game against Bethel Park back in 82. Our crack coaching staff said stop Conboy, we have to stop that guard Conboy and keep that clumsy black kid off the boards....We do that, we win. Hilarious, I still remember that kid's name. I think Conboy had about five points. Turns out the clumsy black kid was some nobody named Armen Gilliam and he lit us up for about 30 with at least 20 boards. We lost a close one. I heard somewhere that he went to some school out near Las Vegas and did ok....I think Conboy went on to sell insurance or some such thing.was at a game where bethel park played them in high school so I saw the Brashear bullets play. he was a bad dude, fun as heck to watch for the eers. of course pitt would have recruited him as a de-back, that's just what pitt does.
There was a wvu-psu game where he literally single handedly torched them at mountaineer stadium. one of the best games I've seen a qb play.
Conboy? Dang, a tad before my time. My older bro played in '84 so I remember those teams but not 82..Now, I myself played a high school playoff game against Bethel Park back in 82. Excuse my ramblings but not a whole hell of a lot to talk about in April.

they had a hardees there right off turnpike, it ended up closing. I told the family one time, you guys lost the best thing going, once again, they saw no humor in my joke..Good lord. I spent a day in Altoona a cpl years ago. Not to self - NEVER go to Bedford.
B-Rock 107.5...my favorite station when passing through. Awesome piped in cool classic rock dj's interspersed with ads for the Everett Quilt Fair and Ed's Steakhouse ...Everybody loves Curve baseball.......they know how to market. I'll give them that. Probably will have some special shirts to auction off.
I live between Bedford and Altoona. There's a little more to do now but putting 8" stacks on your pickup or getting drunk and shooting something are still the favorite local activities.
I recall a former TExas QB described his college days at texas as him and his buddies getting a case of beer, their rifles and going out in a pick up truck with as spotlight and shooting armadillos. Not sure if he was joking or not but that sounded really fun to me, actually still does. Think it might have been Applewhite. definitely wasn't SimmsEverybody loves Curve baseball.......they know how to market. I'll give them that. Probably will have some special shirts to auction off.

Yes, Ed's is noted for succulent steaks with marks where the jockey's were hitting it...No. It's sit down. You might be mistaking Ed's for Clara's across the street.
Sounds like a great promotion! I mean what could go wrong???Everybody loves Curve baseball.......they know how to market. I'll give them that. Probably will have some special shirts to auction off.

Hopefully, it will be a game against the Hartford Yard Goats, my new favorite team in the Eastern League....Everybody loves Curve baseball.......they know how to market. I'll give them that. Probably will have some special shirts to auction off.

a lot of those minor league parks are fun nights out. I used to go to some minor league games in Frederick md. nice little parks, very fan friendly and they are usually pushing some funny and creative marketing ideas. plus the beer is usually cheap.Hopefully, it will be a game against the Hartford Yard Goats, my new favorite team in the Eastern League....

if anyone on here is from Bedford and getting offended by my posts, please realize my disdain for this town stems from the girl breaking up with me more than the actual town itself. it's over 10 years and im getting there..
I am sure it's a nice enough place for people who didnt' have their heart ripped out of their chest and stomped on repeatedly by a local.

there is an overpriced hotel there masquerading as a resort (i've been to real resorts, trust me, they use that word loosely) and a fall festival that is the exact same fall festival that every other town along rt 30 in pa has every weekend in october, in case you need a reason to end your life..
