Amazing win by Women BB today.

SMU was crushing them in the first half. With 49 points by SMU, I was just hoping that Pitt would keep them under 100 while maybe getting up to 50 from 18. Then Pitt came out of halftime on fire and held SMU to ZERO points in the third period while on a 31-0 run. Pitt took a double digit lead and won 72-59. WOW!

I was watching, switching back and forth between it and the Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The first half was almost beyond painful. SMU was hitting every shot and Pitt couldn’t buy a basket. I was spending most of my time watching soccer. When Barcelona went up 5-1, I switched back just as Pitt was making a run. 28-0 in the third quarter, but still trailing by 3.

They have been close or ahead a few times this year going into the 4th quarter only to collapse. Not today. Held SMU to 10 and won going away. First ACC win.

Barcelona played the last 38 minutes (including extra time) with 10 players and still won easily, 5-2.

Pitt beat WVU in wrestling.

They said on television that the Pitt women tied an NCAA record for best comeback after trailing by 32. They also mentioned their 28-0 run to start the second half which led to the win.

Good win and nice to see them in the win column. However that team is not very good. Tough basketball to watch game after game
