It’s kind of ironic that she is replacing RBG given what she said about Scalia’s replacement. That being said, she is a serious jurist who will be fast tracked through the senate very quickly. While I believe this will inevitably cost republicans the senate, the presidency and maybe the Supreme Court, McConnell has dreamed about this his entire political career and will not miss this opportunity to change the court for a generation.

what is this changing regading how people vote that you think they will rush to the Dems? Do you think they would win either the Senate or Presidency if the R's waited until after the elction ?

I do. I actually think the senate would definitely go republican and if trump played his cards right, he could leverage this to a win. I do understand the urgency. How many chances do you get to change the court fundamentally for the next 20+ years?

For conservatives this is the pot at the end of the rainbow that we have been promised since Reagan. I do think it comes at a short term price and I believe trump will pay that price.

So you think swing voters are going to be outraged and move to the Blue column?

Yes I do. I do think there are several republican senate seats that could easily flip back to red if this was played right. Trumps biggest weakness right now is suburban women. How do you think this nomination is going to look to them?
Pretty much the same as when they didn't move on the nomination in 2016.

And I believe suburban women are way more worried about BLM terrorists vandalizing, burning and terrorizing them than a SC judge....could be wrong.

That is a totally legitimate take on this.

Since I rarely talk politics with anyone (even my own family), it's hard for me to prognosticate how all the dysfunctionality right now plays with suburban women (since I am one of them). If the ACB pick was in a vacuum I think it would be easier to predict. But it isn't - it's mixed in with a lot of high volume, high drama unfolding across our country on multiple levels.

I believe the 2020 election, like the year, is unpredictable and constantly shifting. Not sure if this one thing will resonate louder than others. But - I could definitely be wrong!

Well i suspect more care about being safe and keeping their families safe from the unhinged Democrat rioters

For those suburban woman that do care about the court, who better to nominate than a strong, intelligent, mother of 7. They should love the choice

Speaking of appealing to suburban woman, more of this please. I am sure all the suburban moms will be thrilled with these baseless attacks on a mom and her children

The left and the Dems are just petty trash with their constant hate and attacks on anyone who they think may disagree with their positions. But who is to blame for this? Voters are to blame for this! Voters voted these moron Dems into office and now everyone is paying for it with riots, attacks on peoples' character, looting, assaults and killing by their supporters. I don't see Republican supporters out looting and assaulting people or ruining cites and states that are falling apart. This is on the Dems and their supporters.

If they can't see the high value and high character that ACB brings to the SC, then there is no helping them. It's all politics and the Dems are the best at playing in the gutter with their pond scum friends.

Souf, JoeyD, Temple and company will be sitting on their couches with big smiles on their faces as the Democratic’s do everything in their power to humiliate, and trash her and her family.
Exciting times for them the next few weeks!

Is this the Democrats appealing to those suburban women I guess?

Or maybe attacking ACB's children will appeal to those suburban moms ?

I challenge any leftist/socialist/Dem, however you identify yourself, to state one good reason why ACB shouldn't be confirmed for the SC in an expeditious manner. So far, I have heard no good reasons stated by anyone, anywhere.

I do not respond to idiotic, moronic, obviously biased answers. That's all I'm hearing from Dems so far.

I’m confused. Do you just want the senate to rubber stamp a lifetime appointment?

How about listening to none other then Amy comey barrett in 2016 when talking about how Scalia’s conservative seat shouldn’t be filled by a liberal. I’m pretty sure we can all agree that RBG and ACB are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

She will be confirmed quickly because like her, McConnell, me, Cruz, graham and ACB we are all hypocrites now that the shoe is on the other foot.

The shoe is always on the other foot.

That's the way it is.

No. I want the Senate to confirm her with an open voice vote. No hearing necessary or needed.

And you didn't give a good reason not to confirm her.

Next.

Since she was just vetted by the Senate 3 years ago for a lifetime appointment, what should the Senate do now to add to the process?

How about we not listen to anybody who has no say in the matter.

I still haven't heard or seen a reason on the news, in the media anywhere, or in this forum to not confirm ACB immediately. Still waiting for one semi-coherent statement that says she shouldn't be confirmed.
