An Early Guess at 2019-2020 Minutes

Why don't everyone just calm down and relax they just started practicing for Italy with the whole team. So unless you're at the practices to see what's going on you're just assuming and you know what they say about people that assume! It should be hard for anyone to tell what he's going to do because he really hasn't had a team or should I say a full team like he does this year.

Who's not calm and relaxed? It's a message board and some of us are just
speculating. That's part of what we do here. Personally I load my posts with
IMO's and other like comments. They're strictly opinions as I see things. I
enjoy the comments and opinions of others. We're obviously not at practices
and guessing the minutes that Brown and Hamilton will get (as this thread
talks about) is again nothing more than speculation. For some of us it's fun.
But anyway, thanks for the lecture.

Yep. We are just speculating for the fun of speculating. Kinda like sitting around having beer and chatting about our fan hopes for next season.

PG - X 30-32 Murph 8-10
SG - Trey 30-32 Murph 8-10
SF - Toney 25-30 Drumgoole 10-15
PF - Coulibaly -20 Hamilton 10 Champagnie 10
C - Hamilton 20 Brown 20

I really think Hamilton came here to start and will start over Brown but I think we will play a 2 big lineup most of the season and when we go small this year it will be Champagnie as the 4. I don’t think Toney sees time there this year.

Pg X 28-34, trey 4-8, Murphy 2-6
2. Trey 24-30, Murphy 8-12, Drumgoole 2-6, X 3-6
3, Toney 14-18, Drumgoole 8-10, Champagnie 4-8,
4. Coulibaly 8-10, Champagnie 8-10, Toney 8-10
Hamilton 4-10,
5, brown 20-25, Hamilton 12-16, Coulibaly 3-6.

*Kene will change everything a little.

Any news on Kene's injury recovery timeframe?

I'd be very surprised if he played this season. Let's say the doctors say he's ready to go on February 1. Why would he or Pitt want to waste a year of eligibility on playing 9-10 games when he will be extremely rusty. He is almost definitely going to redshirt.

That would be a shame! He works so hard and has a good understanding of the game. Just having him in practice can help this team right now. Let's hope the great docs @ UPMC can help him get ready sooner!

If I'm Kene, I'd rather redshirt, get 100% healthy, graduate and then get a year of grad school paid for, wouldn't you? I mean you reach a point in the season where it just doesnt make sense to burn up a year of eligibility. Let's say he's ready January 1, would you even start playing him then considering it would probably take at least a month to get back into game shape?

I like Kene, he has heart, but I would have to believe they would rather tee up that scholarship to get a more talented kid on the roster.

I suspect you are correct. If he cannot, or does not play this year, I believe he graduates and grad transfers somewhere to make room for a more talented big to be added to the roster.

Kene is in Practice gear on the sidelines in practice. One of the practice pictures he is in shorts and a different colored jersey. So he may be ready sooner rather than later. I don't see anyway he is back here next year as a redshirt senior.

Guessing Capel's season opening press tour more information will be announced and known about Kene.

Capel specifically said Kene will be out for an extended period and alluded to the severity of his injury. As for the RS thing, you have to do what's best for the kid, I would agree that you'd prefer to use his scholarship on someone better next season but that would mean he could grad transfer and play somewhere else and for him, that would seem like a better option than playing 9-10 games for us this year. Plus, who knows, we might not even need his scholarship next year. With transfers being an epidemic, maybe a few guys transfer and we are short on some scholarships.
