That’s what makes the ND game so infuriating. Losing to Miami, at Miami is not bad. Losing to a shitastic ND team was very bad.
A loss to a 2-16 team will do that. Clemson is exposing them for the roadkill they are. Up close to 20 at half.

1. MiamiI thought they finished 3rd?
Those are excuses. A team that wants to win a conference title and lock up an NCAA bid does not lose to a 2-16 team no matter where they play the game, and regardless of a coaches last game. The effort was sinful, and they should have lost by 20.If you look at ND's scores for that long losing streak before their Pitt win you will see they were really close to a win in most of those games and not getting blown out. So, they were overdue and Pitt was unlucky to catch them on Senior night and the retiring Brey's last home game. Then Pitt shoots 3s and FTs poorly and loses. Sh__ Happens!

Fair. That is how it should be looked at. Sucks that we had the short end of the stick on the tiebreakers. They finished tied for 3rd technically
Nope, everyone hopped them and duke tied them but beat them head to head. I think that's what's happening. Oh and ClemsonI thought they finished 3rd?

Correct. Lose to a turd like that with what was on the line, you’ve earned it.That’s what makes the ND game so infuriating. Losing to Miami, at Miami is not bad. Losing to a shitastic ND team was very bad.
Ah I didn’t realize they beat Duke. My apologies to my favorite poster, Joe.Assuming you mean tournament seeds, that isn't right. When Clemson finishes this destruction of Notre Dame they will win the three way tiebreaker because they beat both us and Duke.
3. Clemson
4. Duke
5. Pitt
I thought during the game they showed a graphic that said they's be 3rd if they lost? I guess that depended on something else happening?1. Miami

Michigan State got torpedoed by that 2-16 team, too. That's the frustrating part with this Pitt team. We're better than most teams in the ACC but we're not that good. Good teams beat 2-16 teams, no matter the circumstances. If they can't do that, they're not very good. Now I'm just hoping we get into the NCAAT and get a lucky draw and win at least 1 game. For this team, that's an accomplishment.
That's true. However, they were not 2-16 when that happened, they were off to a good start. In addition, Michigan St. is an average big 10 team, which is to say a very average overall squad.Michigan State got torpedoed by that 2-16 team, too.
Depended on both Duke and Clemson losing. Both won. Both finished 14-6 like Pitt. Both beat Pitt so both had the tiebreaker in each case. With that... 1st to 5th (technically tied for 3rd if no tiebreaker is used).I thought during the game they showed a graphic that said they's be 3rd if they lost? I guess that depended on something else happening?
Why exactly does it matter that they were 6-1 at that point? That's true. However, they were not 2-16 when that happened, they were off to a good start. In addition, Michigan St. is an average big 10 team, which is to say a very average overall squad.
So Notre Dame was winning games before they started the more difficult part of their schedule. It’s not like they’re a bad team - they got off to a good start and struggled in conference play. And Michigan State isn’t really even a bubble team. They’re a tournament team - they’re not a contender or anything, but they’re a good win. That's true.
