And now for some positive/cool news

I posted this on the other site regarding Idowu he's always been a high level athlete.

Being that Idowu just came to the US in the 8th grade and played football for the first time in the 9th grade- he likely would have been high level recruit had he grown up playing the sport. He's a very gifted athlete and smart kid who had been playing catchup with his peers.

Great. That means Idowu is officially no longer a walk-on so some of these jerks on the board can quit assuming he can't play .

If these two guys are half as productive as Aston (the last walk-on awarded a scholarship) the scholarships are well-deserved. Congrats to these young men@

Idowu was also a DB in high school so that's impressive he went from that to a starting DI LB

If you haven't watched the video interview of Idowu that Chris published today, please do. When walk-ons are awarded scholarships, it is a GREAT story. It's the kind of story that removes the tarnish off of what is commonly reported about big time college athletics.

Hard work, perseverance, dedication, teamwork, trust...it DOES pay off.

Great story. Congratulations to Seun and Manny.

What country is Idowu from?

Jester Weah's parents are from Liberia so we may be the only team in D1 to have 2 starters that hold citizenship to African countries.

For those that dont know, Jester's uncle George Weah is one of soccer's all-time greats. If Jester's parents stayed in Liberia, he probably would have been an excellent soccer player and we Americans would have said, "yea but he could never play a REAL sport like football."
