I get your point. We must be in the same age range. The Panther teams of that era gave us some incredible thrills but turned into toads every March. In fact, I get a happier memory from Chipman's last two Eastern 8 squads because they actually WON something. Loved the Forbes remark, as some people think that place was Lourdes.

Agree with you about the Chipman teams. Winning those tournaments at the Civic Arena was just great fun.

Especially the second one because we beat the Dukes AND Hoopies to do it. (Plus Rutgers in the semis.) Recall WVU swept Pitt in RS and their coach gale Catlett -- the first coach not named Paterno that I learned to hate -- said some unflattering things about the Panthers. Their fans showed up at the Igloo to see a coronation, and Pitt crowned WVU into the floor. Sayonara, Eastern 8.

I mean on those traditional anniversaries, like 20 years, 25, etc....but every year. My god, the Immaculate Reception doesn't get as much replay.
