Another “Pitt Is It” Tweet

This is the 5th one by Petrone since June 12.

I can remember the MB from Romania, the setter from Pine-Richland and the libero from Indiana.

Is there a 4th plus this new one?

Two other interesting tweets from Petrone: Blair Bayless has been named to the U21 US team which will be competing in the Pan Am games this week. (Four Nebraska players named; I’m going to take a wild guess on who coaches the team.) And, he retweeted a tweet from VBAdreneline, which, among other things, evaluates recruits. That tweet said one top 10 college coach told him that Izzy Masten, although not rated as a top recruit (yet) was his #2 libero in the whole class and many coaches have her ranked as the #1 libero in the class.

We are hoping that it’s Thompson’s HS and club teammate, elite OH Ayanna Watson. Watson was Nevada’s Gatorade player of the year last year as a sophomore, and was named the top sophomore in the country by vballrecruiter.com.

There were some pretty positive social media rumblings over the past few days that it might be her. A lot of us thought that the tweet for Thompson was actually Watson.

Your hope is rewarded. Her verbal to Pitt was just tweeted by the same site that posted Thompson’s commitment. They have her listed #12 nationally but it’s not clear if that is for all prep players or sophomores.
