Another example of the ridiculousness of the NET ratings

Clemson:
18-4 overall
10-1 in the ACC
59th in NET

Virginia Tech:
13-8 overall
3-7 in the ACC
51st in NET

Also... Clemson has defeated Virginia Tech twice this year.
Jesus, it's even worse when you look at their quadrant performance.

Team A is
Q1- 2-4
Q2- 3-3
Q3- 2-1
Q4- 6-0
road- 0-6

Team B is
Q1- 3-2
Q2- 4-0
Q3- 4-0
Q4- 7-2
road- 4-2

Team B has outperformed in almost every single category, including head-to-head, except the 2 Q4 losses but is still ranked below Team A.

If Quad 4 losses were such a huge deal then someone explain Utah State to me.
Q1- 0-3
Q2- 4-0
Q3- 9-0
Q4- 3-2
road- 3-3

They are ranked #34...

Couldn't you pay a few math professors to reverse engineer NET to figure it out? It can't be that terribly hard.

How bout this?

Current 5 seed Miami (Pitt in parentheses)
16-5 (15-7)
4-4 (3-2)
1-0 (4-4)
1 Q3 loss (1 Q4 loss)
SOS 79 (57)
Non-con SOS 107 (153)

Miami is a 5 seed. Pitt Last 4 In/First Four Out???????

I think you should be able to make a better argument for Pitt as a 6 seed than being out or bubble like every bracket expert has them

I mean people voting for Pitt for top 25 basically equates to a 6/7 seed if you divide by 4. A win tomorrow would be huge to build momentum.

I think some of these bracketologists get caught up in the "Top 25 voter disease" meaning there is some pre-determined formula where you lose 1, move down, win 1, move up. You basically have to redo the whole field everytime you do it. Pitt has come from so far down, they are comparing them to the Nevada's and Arizona State's when their resume is more similar to the 5/6/7 seeds but they subconsciously cant justify moving a team from 11 to 6.

Well we are tied for 39th in one poll and tied for 40th in the other, so that would really work out to a 10 seed.

Which, come to think of it, is probably pretty close to where we are right now.
