so we were next to last in the amound of close games lost (7 points or less). most teams fall within +2/-2. we were -4.

as we all know, this past season we weren't radically far from being maybe 9-3 (or even better). numerous reasons why.

having said that - i think we can all agree that the offense shouldn't go backwards this year. new system, yes. but shouldn't be noticeably worse.

defense: let's face facts - does anyone think the defense will be worse than last year? maybe PN turns out to be a lousy HC but i still think the defense will be better.

b/w just these two variables: T/O margin, lost close games: both were almost statistical anomalies that you would never bet would happen again. PLUS, the returning impact players, it's not crazy to think we should be markedly better in the W-L column next year.
