Another "Pat Signal" today at 2:13 p.m.

Gosh I'm really worried about having no recruits this early in the process. Or even better...who was it that said they weren't impressed with recruiting on the offensive side of the ball. LOL.

Amazing get/flip! OSU's loss is our gain. Ironically, Sibley reminds me of Elliott, small, quick and hard to tackle. D3 Ohio player of the year and state champ, very nice. It's a great day to be a panther!

I said it and I'll stand by the statement as of today. Maybe we'll finish strong.

Pitt's commit list on 06/15/2015 was:

Brandon Ford
Thomas MacVittie
Tony Butler

Pitt is trending up, on paper anyways. Hopefully it shows in the record book in a few years as well.

Elliott wasn't really small though, he was 6-0 225 lbs at the combine, and most say he played at around 230 in college. Meyer called him one of the most physical players he ever coached. He just absolutely crushed people blocking and was regarded as the best blocking back in the country last year by a wide margin by Pro football focus.

SIbley looks like a great pickup, he's clearly way underrated on rivals and should be a 4 star IMO like 247 has him rated. First class kid all the way on top of his tremendous talent. Congrats on the great pickup.

Agreed, Sibley is shorter, listed at 5'10. He is also not the track-star Elliott was. His running style reminds me of Elliott, he runs low and powerful with great quickness and physicality. Not trying to blow up expectations but he looks like a good back on film.

Watching him on film, his speed seems to fade a bit on long runs, but his burst within the first 30 yards is very impressive. He has none of the impressive looking, quick hip pops that you see with a guy like Shady, but he reads the line and hits the hole quickly, and bursts quickly left and right when needed. His left/right movements are not ankle breaking, but he just shifts and burst so quickly that he seems to just quickly get into a clear spot. No wasted motion.

He also has a very low center of gravity and seems hard to take down. I know its just HS competition, so I don't expect the same long TD runs at the college level that you see on his HS tape, but just watching his running style, I think it will play well in college. A lot of guys with seemingly great moves in HS fail in college because the speed at that level overtakes their ability to juke.

Running back U !!

Welcome to PITT !
Pretty much every RB who started or co/started for Pitt the past 20 years has played in the NFL...and of course that's not including TD, Curtis Martin, and Ironhead. It's remarkable actually.

Exciting times to see kids decommit from other big named schools and pick PITT. I'm hoping Judson is next as a previous OSU commit. Within in the last year I can think of kids flipping from PSU, OSU, MICH, USC. Can't recall the last time this has happened and the best part is, it may become the norm under Narduzzi.

Wow, great pick up for you guys! Congrats! Seems like a really good RB prospect. Looks like your recruiting is gonna pick up soon. Hope ours does as well.

Cheers!

Same observations I have. He doesn't have shady or graham moves, but he has that sneaky quick lateral shuffle Dion had. At the same time, he runs though all but the most secure tackles.

one thing about this kid. he was a OSU verbal. he backed away from them but tons of their fans were wishing him good luck.

JC and ford gave him a shout out.

Recruiting Rankings Update:
Way early but some interesting trends, Miami, Clemson, and FSU in Top Ten. Northwestern, Maryland, Rutgers are up, as MSU is a tad back. Texas still lagging usually ahead by now, but early, as Baylor is suffering, and WVU needs a big pick up even Temple is ahead of them.

Pitt is in the middle of the ACC and behind Miami, UNC, Duke, and VT in Coastal right now. Notre Dame during just fine near the Top Ten.

Penn State is trailing OSU, Michigan, Maryland, and Rutgers in the Big Ten East but all in the Top 30. Chryst doing pretty good at Wisky and Ferentz too, the big surprise is the rise of NW.

WVU has much work to do, even Kansas and Iowa State are ahead of them? Big-12 not working out as expected and Holgrosen is on the Hot Seat!

yes, i'm well aware of the reason. just surprised at the number of their fans who was wishing him good luck. it was nice to see.

It's way too early for any of this to mean much. Excessive influence of quantity vs quality at this point as well as low rating of good players who are under rated because they didn't start/shine as HS juniors. Recruiting rankings are all in way too much flux until about mid-late December when there will be less of an influence from numbers (school commit lists won't vary as much in size) and more on quality of recruit classes (including re-adjusted player ratings based on HS senior season performances ).
