This thread makes my head hurt and my positivity for Pitt basketball in the dumpster if this is where we are rebuilding our program from, won't work , just saying. A kid here and there possibly a program full of this and Capel won't make it another 2 years. I actually think we are in a worse spot now than Stallings last year
I'll go one even further back. Lew Hill. 6th man on the great 73-74 team. He came off the bench to spell Jim Bolla who was the 6-8 starting center. But Lew was only 6-6. They used the "amoeba" defense then under Buzz Ridle which was like a match up zone with half court pressure.
His playing time was puzzling though. He started the game and played until the first tv time out then never got in the rest of the first half. Then started the second half until the first tv time out and never came in again. It was almost like Jamie was using him as some kind of decoy to see the game was going to be called or something. I could never figure out his strategy with him.
Ahhh, I remember those days and those players well. Buzz Ridl and his amoeba defense were great.
