So, I began talking to and started dating this young lady who is a teacher at Woodland Hills. We were out to dinner on Tuesday Night and a couple of her students came over to say hello to her. I had no idea, but she introduced them to me as Miles Sanders and Jo-El Shaw. Both kids extraordinary young men. We invited them to sit with us, but they declined. When they left, she started telling me about Jo-El Shaw and his really tough upbringing. Maybe I am so dense I didn't realize it, but domestic violence is a giant problem in the African American community. To the point where Woodland Hills has a guy come in to talk to the players about changing the cycle of domestic abuse. It apparently effects these kids deeply...as you might suspect. She showed me this youtube clip where Jo-El Shaw talks about his domestic violence experience personally. It is moving stuff. And if you didn't like the kid before, you will now.

In inside Pitt recruiting news, she said that Jo-El loves Pitt. And by his own admission he "probably" is going to Pitt. So before we left, she dragged me back over there to say goodbye. I couldn't help myself and when Sanders shook my hand, I had to give him a Hail to Pitt, right? Haha.
