The first half of the first half: NC State was getting total isolation on one side of the court.

That went away. Why and how?

Also:The Pitt offense was again different than it had been up until the FSU game.

Dont tell me it is just Horton creating better spacing, because it is not.

Hugley actually played well today. Probably the main reason we won.

This team may have scored 10-15 more if open 3’s were jacked instead of opting for contested 2’s. Bombs away is today’s game.

Hugley was a mixed bag today. He definitely had a much more productive offensive game and hit the boards. On the other hand, he was slow on defense today (Tired legs? Poor anticipation of cuts?), and his slower recovery contributed to Gueye's foul trouble.

For the last two games, the Panther offense has been staying away from wasting time trying to force feed Hugley into difficult defensive traps or getting him the ball away from the paint with his back to the basket. It seems that it's been hammered into the guards that if Hugley is double-teamed too closely, they shouldn't force the entry pass. It's better to pass it back to the point for a second quick pass opposite Hugley (or a skip pass directly to the other wing/corner). The key to all of that is for the guards to make quick decisions, which forces the defense to turn/change focus. The more you turn a defense, the more the defenders have to work, and the likelihood of their mistakes (like open backdoor/baseline cutters) increases.
