Like it matters. the last reveal was pee -thetic.
Still cant believe they came out in plain pants and goof ball in all white .

Pitt would actually be clever to come out with something different (and uglier) from what the people are expecting (such as the current throwbacks).

Like Pittsburgh, they are rebranding with a new futuristic font that evokes "Robo-Burgh", and eschews the regions torch-cut steel past.
It seems to work. They were showing highlights of our loss to Syracuse in the ACC tournament during the news the other night. We hadn't been able to watch any of the game. My wife (not a stereotypical non-sports-fan, probably gets more into our games than I do) was not fazed at all that we got stomped by 20 for the 3rd time this season by a team we used to own ... all she could do was exclaim on how cool the yellow uniforms were.
Color for baseball above looks incredible. That “slightly different” color for hockey looks rediculous.
Considering everything about hawkee is "slightly different", I'd say they are approiatly colored uniforms.
Agreed, the only tweek I will be okay with is you move the numbers to the shoulder and add the stripes we have on our navy jerseys now onto the new ones. That's it. I have an odd feeling though they will shorten the pants stripes somehow and cut them off a bit at the bottom or start them half way up with a logo or something on the hip... like teams have been doing recently. Depending how they play that I may or may not be against as long as it's the original 3 stripes for the most part. But really need to limit on the tweeking of these and rather than changing the uniforms... just add more sets to it, White or blue helmet, maybe a yellow jersey, White pants with stripes. We don't need a while design change with these.

Of course. Nobody ever gets hired or promoted (or fodder for a resume) by keeping things the same. More immediately, how could the school justify having a PR "unveiling" if the uniforms are the same as last year's throwbacks? And to sell new gear?
So that definitely means tinkering. And that means committees. Joint Nike and Pitt AD "cross functional committees" specifically. And we know what such committees typically produce.
Most are apt not to like something. Like the post above yours for instance. That person sure put a ton of thought into what he wants to see! Almost certainly there are going to be things HE will hate.

The grey face mask, the script pitt, the pants stripe, a solid blue Jersey with no crap all over it the old school helmet stripe.
Pick any shades of blue and gold withvthe above components and you have a winner.

The one in 1997 was crap too. Total crap, orchestrated by Guy Smiley, aka Steve Pederson.
I get a bit of a kick out of the modern tweak thing with the kids. That Alabama uniform has been tweaked so much, so has Auburn's, and Ohio State, and Texas, and USC, and UCLA, and Oklahoma, and the Evil Nitters.
I'm not attacking you, but I just find that to be silly. Maybe if our athletic department hadn't been run so poorly for the past 35 years we wouldn't have to worry about tweaking what was a great, and nationally recognized, uniform.

All black only works well if you can get all fans to wear black and every seat is filled. It looked good when the Pirates did a blackout. It would look terrible if Pitt tried.

I wouldn't mind pant stripes cut off like these UCLA ones if they did want to make it look somewhat modern but nothing too crazy. Wouldn't mind a white Pitt helmet like this either with Pitt in blue.. the stripes reversed with blue inside two yellow stripes.
Also these sleeves please, can leave the collar white, keep the same number font we have now with the yellow outline and add numbers to the shoulders and you have a keeper for years.
I like the colors and the uniform although I think they bring back Hackett yellow and royal blue. I think there are going to be numerous combinations, all royal blue, all white with royal blue and yellow trim, white jersey with yellow or blue pants, home blue jersey with yellow pants, all yellow with blue and white trim etc.. Blue helmet yellow stripe, yellow helmet blue stripe. None of this fashion show will bring football or basketball wins but a 1/3 of the fan base will be pleased, a 1/3 could care less and a 1/3 are going to be very critical and totally upset. Based on the video released today by Pitt - I wonder if an alternate helmet with the Cathedral or Learning on the helmet and/or part of the standard uniform somehow. The Cathedral was the centerpiece of that video.
I’ve always thought an alternate helmet with ‘Hail to Pitt’ arching over a Panther (like the Panther hollow bridge panthers) would be really cool.
The Cathedral and Hail to Pitt should be incorporated into the uniform combos.
