I've been saying all year that these are really good kids. They care. They're trying. They just didn't play good enough and weren't coached good enough.

I actually really like Lowe, Leggett, Austin, the twins, Cummings. Good kids, good players. I'd take any of them on my college team in some role. This team lacked a true PG and big who can rebound and defend. It was flawed. But through no fault of those 6.

I think these are good guys and capel is a really good dude. They just didn't execute. And this is a results based profession.
I don't think there was ever a moment with this team that said they weren't good guys, and that Capel is an upstanding human being. Not on my part, even with some sharp comments I made this season about their results. And as you said, this is a results-based profession. And it IS a profession, now that they players are getting paid to play, and can transfer at will

The players should be emotional after the way this game played, and how they played it. The "eye factor" will support that this was a winnable game for Pitt. They didn't take advantage of several turnovers by ND, and continued to miss opportunities to rebound and/or make seemingly makeable shots. As Capel said in the interview, this loss should prepare them for the fact that nothing in life comes easy. You make - or break - your abilities in how you perform. In this case, for 40 minutes for their "job"

I wish only the best for the players and staff going forward. But I still contend that this team is not one that will succeed without a new, fresh, and more competent roster - and certainly, some new assistant coaches to better prepare the team for success

H2P!

Agree. This roster needs an overhaul. I wouldn't say a single person should automatically be back for next year

This video has no bearing on what kind of people these kids are. Pitt's players have been great for the last several years, not sure how many locker rooms you've ever been in at the end of a long season, but these emotions are pretty typical. I feel sorry for players that are so poorly coached.

College athletics…..a machine out of control. Given what these players are paid to play, it’s easy to forget they’re kids with the maturity level of teens. They both benefit by and are hurt by the system. They’re paid like pros but are still fragile…at least at times…..but yet they have adult business decisions to make in the immediate future and the system, which now relies more than ever on fan financial support, hardens fans expectations and makes them less forgiving. In this topsy turvy world of college athletics, a world of contradictions, it’s not surprising that the fans can be harsh, that the players themselves sometimes have no sense of loyalty and that some players cave under the pressure they are under.

haha, I feel far worse for me than I do for the players

I don't feel bad at all for JC, he makes me feel worse.....nice guy, poor coach

I do feel for Zack and Ish who are finished
