Yes. You referenced the wrong poster and started discussing other tweets, which I was not and never did reference. You erroneously called them facts. They weren't even close to facts. You can click those arrows next to "xxxxposter said:" and it will take you to the message, which was quoted. Things are set up to make it very, very easy to follow conversation and track who is saying what and which posts they are quoting and responding to.

I am an avid Pitt sports fans, so someone please explain to me why we are whining about this years team.

Have they arrived yet ? No. Are they on their way ? yes. Pitt has lost 3 games this year by a TOTAL of 11 points. 11 Points !!!! All to top 25 teams. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that progress.
We have a 2nd year coach that is very passionate about the program and looks like he will top his win total every year. isn't that progress ?

The stands are filling up , slowly but surely(except VT it was Thursday, cold and I believe the Pens were in town). Up until this recent lost we were getting votes in the Polls every week. Progress ?

Big time 4 and 5 star recruits are noticing Pitt. Are we getting all of them ? No. Heck we may not get any, but we are getting noticed. And just like fishing if they keep noticing your bait and biting sooner or later you will land one (then 2,3, etc). But it takes time and patience.

So all jokes aside, because I just don't understand. Someone please explain to me what I'm missing and what else does Pitt need to do before the fan base gives them respect and stop complaining.

Remember Rome nor Alabama was built in a day.

You have reading comprehension issues as well. I said every school has disappoints on different levels. For the teams I mentioned who's resources are much greater than Pitt's it's a monumental failure to be mediocre for even 5 years. Take a look at what's going on at Texas for exhibit A.

I think every coach at Bama since Bear Bryant had at least one 10 win season. Gene Stallings had several, along with a National Championship in 1992.

Pitt fans need to get it out of their head that either major program will ever be, over the long term, a national player. That is the issue here...it isn't anything Pitt is doing, it is your absurd expectations that Pitt needs to be a top 15 team and contend for the playoffs. Seriously...follow bama or OSU if that is your expectation.

People are trying to run off narduzzi...which doesn't surprise given that they wanted to run off the most successful coach this school has had in the last 35 years in any sport.

Stop having images of grandeur and delusion, and accept Pitt for what it is. I'm hoping basketball doesn't go in the rank with stallings and return to its historical norms, and football fans should feel very lucky after all the coaching changes that Pitt wasn't going 3-9 consistently.

Criticism of a coach is different than wanting to run off a coach. I don't think I've read a single post on here that wanted Narduzzi replaced.

I agree that Pitt may never be a long-term national player. However, they can be really good again and put a lot more effort in recruiting than they currently do.

As for basketball... Dixon's program was stagnant the last 5 years & I think its doubtful he was ever going to get it back to where it was from 2004-2011. It was time for a change. As long as Stallings can keep Pitt in the middle of the ACC and on the NCAA bubble, it will be pretty much a continuation of Dixon, only a little more entertaining. I'm cool with that.

Also, who cares what Dokish's points are on who is in the top 25 instead of us and their schedules. Those teams have played schools who were ranked when they met (except for Western Michigan who is 8-0). Who cares whether they are in or out at the exact moment Dokish wants to prove a homer point?

The OP was asking why we complain about being 5-3, aka mediocre. You can point to strength of schedule if you'd like...hell, it can be this year's built in excuse to make people feel like we're a relevant program who just has some bad luck. I'll continue to be a realist about the state of this program and you can keep telling me to go root for another team because we all know your blind and undying allegiance is the only thing propping up this program.

Yes Pitt has had many down years, bad coaching changes, etc. But what does that have to do with this years team or narduzzi's two years. You can't blame the team or the coach for bad hires or bad players.
That's just complaining for the lack of anything else to say. And is just plain stupid.
And trust me I have probably been a panther fan longer than 75%of you have been alive or at least a fan. You dream about TD and Marino, etc I watched them play. Hello I watched Marino kick the shit out of my highschool. Yes I'm that old.
My point being stop crying and be a fan. There have been a lot of (mostly )positive fans and its good to see most fans and posters feel as I do.
For those of you who have respoindrd in the negative you still never answered the question just gave reason why you complain.
Pitt will be fine but I'm sure you will find a reasoireasoin to complain about that too.
