Don’t think Pittsburgh is itching for another benfica vs Dortmund snobernocker exhibition match. I don’t know it they’ll ever hold that against Pittsburgh or not. But giving us that match up a couple of years ago and drawing 10K wasn’t a good thing.
Oh I know. There’s no doubt. But they have us Dortmund and Benfica. What could go wrong? Lol.There was a decent crowd there (30,000 maybe?) when Chelsea played Roma back in I want to say 2004. If they brought in a "name" team they'd get some interest.
btw…why would anyone bring Benfica over for a tour?
That’s a great point. If you are going to bring someone like that over for a game, you have simply got to have them playing someone like Barca or Man U, someone who is going to do all the heavy lifting to sell the tickets.
Have you ever known anyone Portuguese? Personally I haven't? Is it a small population in the USA? Why not bring a Greek or Italian big name team, Roma, AC Milan, Olympiacos, Panathaniakos, AEK, I guarantee you'd draw local Greeks and Italians even in Western PA. .btw…why would anyone bring Benfica over for a tour?

I went to Dortmund/Benfica. I think they announced like 16K and I thought that sounded right. It wasnt THAT bad of a crowd for a WEEKNIGHT non-brand team vs non-blue blood. Man City/ACM had about 40KOh I know. There’s no doubt. But they have us Dortmund and Benfica. What could go wrong? Lol.

another thing, I spend a lot of time in Charlotte. I’m thinking about the Chelsea vs Charlotte FC match in July. But at the same time, it’s a Wed night match. Not sure I want to beat myself up to get there on a Wed for an exhibition.
