Jamie Dixon made one thing clear to Sterling Smith on his visit to Pitt this week:

The Panthers need a shooter in the worst way.

The head coach stressed that fact for two days and offered a clear plan for minutes at the two guard spot. After playing at Coppin State for three years and graduating, Smith is now trying to make a major jump in competition.
