I was going to give mine up this year but I renewed and I really really regret it. Had I known we'd only have 2 scholarship guards, I wouldn't have spent money to go see a 2-18 team. Would have Stubhub'd 5-6 games.
My buddies and I renewed. We've had them since Big East Year One. None of us expects anything from the Panthers -- we were joking about suiting up ourselves -- but we love college hoops and stick with the team. I'm looking forward to being at a game for the first time in 20 months.
I renewed, as I always do, and I will be there for every game (I suspect) as I always am.
I admire you guys who are truly Pitt basketball fans buying season tickets no matter what, I hope the upper edge of wins in the prediction thread gets reached, but I really am down on the "culture" of the program with all the in house problems and now more "downtown" trouble....kinda of looking forward to the next era...

As weird as this sounds, I was more excited about Stallings Year 2 than Capel Year 4 because we had a team of all freshmen so I thought maybe I'd see some potential this team could get to the tournament in a few years. Capel Year 4, without Horton and Sibande is very close to being as bad as that team but the weakeness of the league will prevent 0-20. The league got 9 teams in the ACC and 3 in the NIT. Pitt only played a couple games vs teams who didnt make the NCAA or NIT

Got three season tix. Not excited about the team, but hoping for a couple of fun upsets and a few good individual performances. Excited to take my kids to their first Pitt hoops games.

i have had season tickets for over 30 years. I have gone to Pitt basketball games regularly for over 55 years. This may be the end of my going to games if there is no indication for improvement coming. Tonight’s game was a total embarrassment for Pitt basketball. This loss was not an upset. Pitt was totally outplayed in this game in all facets except Hugley.
We have season's tickets. Because of business travel obligations, I doubt I'll be at more than 6 or 7 games this year. And maybe that's a good thing. I'm too old now to get aggravated over some self-absorbed coach and his antics.
Is there a particular age when this happens or does it manifest itself to each at a different age according to some genetic make-up? (Asking for a friend who was born during the Eisenhower administration)
We attended . Zoo showed up which was nice shocking that even the lower bowl was largely empty . Easy in and out of tower vie garage . Bit this sucked
Born during the Eisenhower administration? Well then you....or I mean your friend, isn't/aren't old enough yet. You'll know when it happens. It will jump out at you real quick.
Now my question becomes....will any fans at all show up for games this year? Will we ever get a crowd in excess of 1,000? Maybe if the visitors bring some fans, we might.
Student tickets are free so they'll be several hundred at most games so yes, we will get more than 1000. Not counting students, I dont see us drawing more than 1000. I doubt there will be 500 non-students there on Tuesday
Will they be able to give away tickets to students now? I think they have more useful ways to use their time than sitting watching this fiasco.
If we lose more games than we win in the OOC, I really don't see crowds getting over 1,000 the rest of the year. If Lyke has her eyes open, she knows that is costing her money and doing considerable, possibly irreparable, harm to the program. She needs to bring this guy Capel into her office today and give him his walking papers.
Does she have Stallings' number? It would be an improvement over this clusterf$%k.
Firing Capel soon doesn't increase attendance. The only reason to fire Capel before March is to get a jump on the coaching search and have a new coach hired possibly in January/February (if he is able to like a Sean Miller) to get a jump on recruiting. You still need to let him get through November and maybe December but if we go like 3-8 in the OOC, you probably have to make the move.
Why keep him now though? Fire him get rid of him, let O'toole coach the rest of the season. It's not like he has anyone lined up to play for us next year now.
It doesn't make any sense to fire him after an 0-2 start. You have to give him at least a chance to turn things around. If he starts 1-8 or 0-9, then ok.
Pitt needs to be proactive for once in their lives when it comes to basketball. Throw this guy Capel to the curb and get someone in here NOW who can recruit and coach. Two things Capel isn't capable of doing.
