Look right now it's obvious the Pitt job is at the bottom of the barrel. No players, low fan support and no coaches.
We all saw what Howland did for us before, he pretty much rebuilt the program. I'm thinking this. Get him in here for like 4 years. He knows how to rebuild and he has good history doing it for us. He will get us back to respectability within 3 years I believe. Then after the 4th year with our program in much better shape we look for the home run hire. Howland isn't young anymore so I doubt he would want to be here more than 3-4 years anyways.
Sure I know it's an outside the box thought but I would take Howland coming back here in the short term over guys like Schmidt and a total unknown in Scheyer.
