First off, spare me the silly attendance state takes. This post isn’t about how many people attended yesterday’s game.
What irks me is the seemingly asinine stadium seating assignments. The below links include a viewpoint from the Cincy Fan section in Acrisure and another viewpoint from a sideline reporter on the opposite side. How does it make any sense that the decision makers at Pitt are assigning seats for a sizable portion of the crowd to these upper end zone sections. We are losing whatever inkling of a home field advantage we might have by inexplicably assigning those actually attending to sections where they make little difference.
Yesterday’s game is probably an accurate representation of how most Pitt games will be attended. The students have been showing up, might have been another 15k strong, yet you reward them with a shitty upper end zone section. Not sure what’s going on with the north end zone but you have that left side always filled and the other side completely empty. It just looks so stupid. Seriously, do our administrators not even notice this stuff? How are they not asking the same questions? If we beat WVU, the UNC game will probably have a similar crowd as Cincy and it will have the same stupid layout that creates little home field advantage. I just don’t understand the thinking.
