Attendance U (perfect)

Something how the Pittsburgh media treats them like hometown when they win but when losing its expected since they're not a basketball school. Double standard

They don’t. Haven’t heard them mentioned this year. Not once during the season.

I mean yeah….may have heard a passing mention in the last 24 hours that they made the tournament, but that’s it.

Yeah. A passing mention here and there. Penn st hoops has never been treated like a local sports team. And still don’t.

Basketball doesn’t even exist when they lose. Total censorship. Much like their rapes that the Pgh media also censors.

You guys are making assumptions on how you think it is because it’s something fun to be mad about.

But I’m telling you, they get zero coverage from the Pgh media, and that didn’t change because they were decent for a change.

The right people would. That Donnie football dude on 93.7 wore one to a family event where he knew Nitters would be, and they all got the reference and weren’t happy about it.

I wore it to Hershey Park a long time ago when it was fresh in everyone's mind. Got so many compliments from Pitt fans.

I meant that Donnie wore an attendance U tee and got all kinds of heat from the Nitters.

Seems like Donnie Football could be in line to get his own show soon. Took me a second to get past the severe yinzer accent but he’s a pretty good guest host. Much prefer him to Zeise anymore. Was talking a lot of Pitt hoops a few weeks ago.

That’s just not so. Random sports reports I happened to catch on WTAE and KDKA over the last three or four days have included regular coverage of their progression through the Big Ten tournament, and when they were selected for the tournament.

I’m not saying there should have been no mention of these items in those broadcasts, btw. It’s legit news.

But mainly I’m pointing out that when there’s something positive for them, local Pgh media leaps right on it. Yet when they eventually lose in the tournament next week, at most the score will be briefly flashed, probably buried among some random golf highlight. And that will be the last mention of their basketball program … until the next time they happen make the tournament.

the bryce jordan center is a dump. it was built as a large seating capacity arena in order to hold big time concerts as well as Big Loser 10 basketball games. They should have gone for the 12,000 seat arena but even then they would have trouble selling out

I always thought it had an ice surface to host the ice capades and minor league hockey. I cant believe they built a huge hockey arena without the need for an ice surface. They really should have renovated that area for the hockey program and built an 7000 seat arena for basketball.

Their new AD said they might push the court all the say to one end of the arena next year to use the permanent seating on 3 sides then curtain off the other 25% of the building and that's what I think should be done. I thought SHU should have done that before they got good and Duquesne when they played 3-4 games/year at PPG. That gives you 6000 or so good lower bowl seats.

The hockey arena that the Pegulas built for both men’s and women’s teams is really nice and correct seating capacity.

I think those mentions are to be expected. But they are so minimal. I think the takeaway is that they are still a non-story even when good. I haven’t seen one interview or exttended segment on them. With Pitt, it’s nightly.

I like him and he seems Pitt friendly.

It is ok for concerts, graduation, and that dance thing. Bad for basketball. They should put money into renovating Rec Hall and move back there.

Shout out to the Zoo. Well done. SIAP.

......So I'm sitting in a neighborhood pub at the bar in Philly last Thursday evening watching the games. Ya kinda think Philly is outside the range of what I am about to go into but alas it is not.......... I'm into my 8th hour of drinking at this point and I'm still pissed at that Pitt/Duke debacle. Penn State has just beaten that schitty Illinois team for the 12th consecutive time this year...Then this happens. You know the Nitter. Comes up from behind me very Sanduskily and rests his hands on my shoulder and and screams "Yeah, this puts US into the big dance!" Those pricks assume everyone on the planet is one of them....

In any case how would you folks react to such a scenario?

I would have just asked him when he first realized that they have a basketball team. Was it at that very moment?

that would have been the clever thing to do..did I mention I had been drinking for 8 hours? Putting up some Pitt79 like numbers...

Let's just say I started the conversation off with "Who the f**k is US?"
