I've been on this board for years, but have had it up to here with attendance talk, so I'm saying my piece for the first and probably last time ever. There's no reason to explain away or be embarrassed about Pitt's attendance tonight and most other times (within reason). F that. What has motivated me to draft this comment though is that some have allowed PSU and WVU banter to control the narrative (attendance standard) and by doing so has forced an inferiority disposition upon an entire fan base. Let's get a grip here and see it for what it is!
Of course they want to control the narrative and set the standard because they know they HAVE to accentuate the only thing they have going. It's the classic preemptive strike to arbitrarily (and conveniently) center the discussion in the area one believe's are one's strengths and the other's perceived non-strengths to force them to defend themselves and immediately create a class system, where one's looking down and the other up.........I can see right through it. FFFFF............. THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta remember, when the stadium lights shut off, they're in a cocoon for the remainder of the weekend (or year) and they know this. It's to the malt shop for ice cream, state store for liquor and then crickets, save for some heavy metal music wafting through the night air from parties that are needed to help them through a perpetual dead period.
Pitt gets around 40 k on a school night when the Pens are playing a home game less than a mile away. Come on!!!!! We're doing fine. Yes......we can (and will) do better, but don't get caught up in there orchestrated bs.
Pitt's attendance figures are adequate when compared against its peers. Northwestern averaged 38,000 last year. Maryland saw a 30% attendance increase and was ELATED at averaging 46,000 with an ON CAMPUS STADIUM and in a metropolis with size and economic indices that exceed western PA. by considerable margins.
While I'm at it.........this Pitt-ing is all bull xxxx too. Enough of that. Loservillle!!!!!! We have a new management team in place now. They're winners!!!!!!!!!! Let's get on board with them........when we do..... the excuses of attendance, Pitt-ing, and waiting for the other shoe to drop syndrome will cease.......
