B/G Scrimmage

The B/G scrimmage is Sunday starting at 3 PM. The link to the official site:

Interesting in the write-up they mention Sterling Smith and ANO but NOT Rafael Maia. Could mean nothing but it could mean ANO will be starting at C come Gonzaga. Something we should keep an eye on. IMO, we need BOTH Maia and ANO bringing their top game... particularly against the Zags.

Otherwise.... the game should tell us how many healthy bodies we have but, historically speaking, they usually don't tell us more that that.

Yeah, we have been speculating over the summer as to what we might be looking at with starters and a rotation but, Dixon is seeing these players every day in practice now and we are not. So, we won't know what he decides on until... Gonzaga I guess.

Thanks for the link. Maia has been injured, maybe that, or just bad reporting.

As suggested, probably just an inadvertent omission.

Dixon recently stated he did not think he would know his best starting rotation until mid-season. So, I would not read too much into this. There will be lots of experimentation with lineup combos throughout the OOC schedule.

Yes.... but we have the Zags as our first game of the season and then in December Purdue and Davidson. If Dixon goes 0-3 in these three games... it will not be good.

I see the women's team is scrimmaging at 2:00 pm and the men's team at 3:00 pm. Going to need a scorecard for both teams with all the new players.

Be interesting to see if Coach Suzie's 5 freshmen are anywhere close to the talent she brought in last season. True freshmen Stasha Carey, Yacine Diop, and Aysia Bugg played major roles last season and will be the core of this year's team.

Needless to say, the production of Brianna Kiesel and Monica Wignot is going to be very difficult to replace.
