I think we can put the talk that Bama deserved to be in the CFP to rest.

Also if any NFL team drafts Milroe with a 3r round pick or higher it willl be a waste of a draft pick. Dude is awful. He locks on to one receiver and is not very accurate. Bama hs had receivers wide open all game and he hasn’t seen the.

You only need 6 to 8 teams in the playoffs. It has been that way every year.

UGH! He is god awful.

He’s terrible. And their O line is uncharacteristically mediocre. Got pushed around all game by Michigan’s #2s.

DeBoer may not be long for the job. Team does a lot of stupid undisciplined stuff that never would have happened under Saban.

Don’t tell that to Paul Shizbomb.

The discipline really started to erode under Saban the last couple of years too. Leverage isn't exactly in favor of the coach these days.

I didn’t see a lack of discipline under Saban-and he did a much better getting the best out of Milroe. What examples do you have?

Did you watch Alabama AT ALL the last 2 years?

DId you see the USF,, Auburn, TAMU, or Arkansas saw game last year? Did you see the Texas, TAMU, Tennessee, or LSU games in 2022?

Milroe isn’t bad. He’s just not Cam Ward or Caleb Williams or somebody like that.

Bama just has an average at best OL in general, and really poor running game.

They basically asked him to be the entire offense this year. And he’s just not that type of QB.

He needs to be in an offense like Michigan’s offense. He’s basically what Michigan hoped Orgy would be this year.

Miami would actually be a good offense for him. Simple Air Raid passing concepts. And a dominate OL/running game. He’d have all day to throw and they would stay on schedule down to down.

He has an abundance of physical talent but none of the other qualities that make up a good quarterback.

He came into the year a Heisman front runner. He was very good last year. And good this year.

He just isn’t what Bama needs him to be. But he carried the Bama offense this year. Their entire offense was Milroe avoiding pressure. And Milroe acting as a battering ram to give them any kind of ground game.

Probably not a coincidence that it’s a little over half way through the season that his play fell off.

That’s when the battering ram offense probably started to take its toll on him physically.

He's really been wildly inconsistent his whole Bama career. He can be very good. But at times, he's downright awful and has trouble completing the simplest of throws, even when the protection is fine. (see this year's games vs Tennessee & Oklahoma).

I have watched plenty of Bama football over the past 15 years. Milroe lacks instincts and is a poor decision maker. He compensates with a big arm and his legs. But he has struggled with the basic mechanics of QB play the whole time, starting with seeing/feeling pressure and getting the ball out quickly and on target. To borrow from the late great Kenny Rogers, after all the footbal he's played and all the coaching he's had, he still doesn't know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

he had a better offense last year and obviously much better coaching, but he's the most fundamentally flawed QB Bama has run out there in a very long time.

Pretty much agree with everything.
I could see Gabriel having a Mark Brunell like career if he is in the right system.

He's declaring for the draft anyway. Probably his best move, tbh. If Anthony Richardson can be the 4th QB drafted based on what he did at Florida, I would think Milroe is probably in that same area for this year's draft.

And that would be a wasted draft pick. But I’m sure some team will be dumb enough to take him

Agree, based on what we have seen from him. But his athletic ability and arm are going to wow people in a combine like setting. A lot of coaches will think they can work with him. And maybe he does actually start to put it together at some point in the future. I sure wouldn't bet on it, but anything is possible.

It will be interesting to see where he goes.

Richardson was one of the worst high picks in recent memory, and that’s what it looked like at the time the pick was made. That one should be costing some people their jobs. Idiotic

As I recall Bill O'Brien told him to switch positions if he wanted to play in the NFL.

I don’t think that’s correct.

He told Milroe he should switch positions as it relates to college football. That Milroe wasn’t good enough to start at QB for a college team.

I don’t think much of Milroe as an NFL prospect.
But O’Brien’s assessment of Milroe is/was objectively wrong as a college player.

Anthony Richardson had less starts so people excused his poor accuracy and decision making as inexperience. Milroe has too many starts for scouts to use that fallacy.
Milroe is just another athletic qb who can make dynamic plays but is an inconsistent pocket passer. College Football produces many such qbs although most without his athletic prowess. The fact that Brock Purdy fell to the 7th round yet people are debating which round to take Milroe tells you all you need to know about NFL scouting.

Possibly. I sometimes don't think it's scouting as much as ego. I think some coaches see the flaws, but then weigh those vs the physical attributes, arm strength etc. and they honestly believe they can fix him.

I'm pretty sure that my original premise is correct. He said that if Milroe wanted to reach his full potential, he needed to not be a QB. I guess I might have twisted words when I said if he wanted to play in the NFL he needed to change positions, because I did interpret it that way.
