The contempt toward Pitt and its fans cannot be denied. The little article today had to have a), been written, B) submitted for editorial review, and c) approved by the PG.
It is time for all Pitt people to ban the PG from their lives and to stop spending any money or time supporting them. Have their websites blocked, ignore establishments that sell the rag, refuse to watch any station that uses the PG as a partner.
Let the PG cover Penn State. That is their prerogative. That is unless investigative reporting is called upon.
But in no way should the PG enjoy the financial support of those whom they admittedly can't stand.

Have not bought it for over a Decade now, and get many copies free from a Bookie Joint in Moon Township that gives the PPG that did not sell, to me for free after cutting off the top as required, and then I still do not read it, just drop them off at the Humane Society because they need the papers for the cages, and that is where PPG belongs with a far better purpose in helping out Humanity and Animals in need and they don't read it either?

Nothing the PPG writes or publishing can stop Pitt's Narduzzi's Advancement of the Pitt Program and the Penn State's complaint about Pitt Football is on him and shows he is upset with Pitt Football History since Penn State is still chasing it!

While I do agree with you regarding some of the sports articles in the PG I will not ban the paper in my house because sports is only a part of the paper. We read the paper for all the news and not just the sports section. There is no comparison with me between the PG and the Trib involving non sports news and that is why we will continue to read the PG and hold our nose at some of the sports reporting therein. The whole world is not only sports news.

In an attempt to attract as many subscribers as possible,. they have, over the last dozen years, published a paper espousing almost equally both liberal and conservative viewpoints.
The only other liberal newspaper in Pittsburgh was The Pittsburgh Courier, once the #! selling black newspaper in America, which was sold in 2003 to become The New Pittsburgh Courier, a conservative paper offered to African-Americans.
There is no longer a liberal-slanted newspaper in Pittsburgh.

For a comparison, the Trib actually markets itself as a conservative newspaper - that is the term they use to describe their product. "Liberal" and "conservative" are subjective terms and what is liberal to some may not be to others. The P-G is certainly not liberal in the way that the Trib is conservative.

Spot on, I was there at the Rise, Pinnacle and Demise of Pitt Football Program from 1972 to 1989 before moving to other places, and also followed the Rebirth on Winning starting in 1997 to Today!

The Truth is the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is a Business dependent on Profits to stay in Business. It is well known FACT, that when Pitt lost to WVU or Penn State and other Programs, more PPG's Newspapers were sold than when PITT won! One reason why printing Bad News on Pitt, pays off for the PPG. Another reason why I read and follow the Trib! The only way to protest the PPG is not to Ban it, but not to buy it, and up to Pitt to prove that Assistant Editor wrong by Winning more NCS!

Pitt is back with the right people having the right visions to bring Pitt Football back to a Top 25 Team and Program.

The only People, Organization, or Publicity to stop that kind of Pitt Progress will be at Pitt, more than any other place, person, or thing?

Coach Pat & Staff is not worried about it and his confidence, coaching and recruiting will fulfill Chancellor's Gallagher Vision for Pitt football, with support A.D. Barnes will help provide too!

At the same time, I welcome the challenge of other Universities Programs bring, compete, and will play against Pitt Football. The bigger and better they are is what Pitt is out to beat too, in order to be the Best Pitt must play, win and recruit against the Best!

Just because the PG doesn't market itself that way that doesn't mean that's not what it is. For instance MSNBC doesn't market themselves as a liberal news outlet but they most certainly are. If you want to say the PG isn't as far left as the Trib is to the right then sure, but not particular material either.

Whan I began reading it on a regular basis as a teenager in the 1970s, it was bannered as the "New" Pittsburgh Courier. (The "New" appellation dates from when the Sengstacke Group, publishers of the Chicago Defender, bought the Courier from the last local owners, the Vann family.)
