Barnes has several ooc openings to fill

It wouldn't shock me if we bought out of the game at Marshall either. I know he's not too fond of going on the road to non-power 5 venues.

I think barnes is going to stick with the formula of 2 P5 games, 1 FCS game and 1 low level d1 team.. Not sure how his new stance on not playing non-P5 games on the road will effect this formula..

So with '18, I expect an Akron type matchup.. He needs a P5 matchup for '19.. Maybe a home and home for '19 and '21..

USC, unlike the SEC teams that refuse to come north, USC has no problem going home and home with anyone......probably that is why I root for them as a second team

Strangely, Virginia has had home and homes recently with Oregon, USC, UCLA, BYU, Boise State, and TCU......and lost all but 1. Some strange scheduling there.

I don't think strange is the right word. More like stupid.

A schedule like what Virginia did recently is a great schedule if you have a title contender and you need the SOS help. If you're middle of the pack or worse, you can be finished before conference play even begins, which is exactly what happened to Virginia the past couple seasons.

Btw, I would expect midmajors to fill up most of Pitts openings. Two bcs schools ooc is usually good. I also don't think Barnes decree of no road games against midmajors will hold up....too expensive.

Not that anyone is asking me, but I'd love to see a home and home with either Cal or Stanford. I know we had some discussions with Cal recently but couldn't work it out. Maybe Barnes could make it happen.

Cruzer

would only be a 3 hr drive for me

Wisconsin would be fun. Cool college town and beating Chryst would be awesome. Aren't we doing something with Cincinnati soon?

SEC teams have played teams north of their territory, but many of them prefer the neutral site games where they can get enormous checks AND still have a big portion of their fanbase attend. It Pitt had the clout to do that, they would do. We don't.

What the heck would be suitable "neutral sites"?
