BASEBALL - 3/30/14- Pitt vs Georgia Tech .......

GT 0 Pitt 0, end of the 1st inning ......
Vranka with a leadoff double for Pitt in the bottom of the 1st but Wolsonovich fouled out to RF and Vranka was thrown out trying to go to 3B ..... we had 4 runners thrown out on the bases in yesterday's game and now one in the 1st inning today ..... have to run the bases better !!!!

That attempted steal of 3rd made zero sense. 2 outs, so a fly ball won't score you even if you do steal third--and a single likely scores you from 2nd as well as 3rd--so why try that? Geez........

Leadoff hitter hits one to left. Vazquez gets caught in between and it gets by him for a triple. Runner scores on a passed ball. Looked like a fastball so maybe he was crossed up

Well its not warm but I think it was colder at that marathon game last week. Might have been windier on Friday too
The snow was just a coating in the city and its still warm enough so nothing laid on the ground

Pitt 4 - Ga Tech 2, after 7 1/2 innings
Curtis took over pitching in the 8th for Pitt, he had 2 on, 1 out and got their clean-up hitter to ground into a DP!!

4 2 bot 8. Curtis gave up a hit and walk with 1 out but then gets a 6 4 3. On the walk the runner had taken off for second and would have been out on a nice throw by Pazos but it was ball 4

5 3 dp ends the inning. Bases were loaded following a double steal and inten walk. Pitt again aggressive on the bases. Curtis is going to try and finish this off. Frab makes a great diving stop and throw from third to start 9th

Does the Panther Athletic Department even know we have a baseball team? Their poor coverage, as mentioned by others, is just awful. We were the home team and have no story up, yet the visiting team from Atlanta does? Just sad.....sorry for the preaching
