he was replaced by Mersing to start the game ...... I think Aldenhoven has had some shoulder problems recently ..... would be a BIG loss if he can't go for an extended period.

Miami scored a run on a single, sac bunt, wild pitch, and ground out to 2B ..... they got two walks with 2 outs but Mersing pitched out of that jam.

Shelinsky singled in the 2nd but the other 3 Pitt batters in the inning struck out.
