3 up and 3 down for Pitt ..... Joe Harvey pitching for Pitt.

Pitt 0 Miami 0, end of 2 innings .....

3 up and 3 down again for Pitt.
 
Pitt 0 Miami 0, end of 3 innings ......

3 up and 3 down for Pitt in the 3rd ...... we have no base runners through 3 innings...... Miami stranded one in the 1st, one in the 2nd, and 2 in the 3rd.
 
Pitt 0 Miami 0, end of 4 innings ......

PITT GOT A BASE RUNNER IN THE 4th !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..... Roche walked but we didn't score ...... Miami pitcher has no hitter through 4 innings..... 3 up and 3 down for Miami in the 4th.
 
Against the better teams ......

with some good pitchers, we just haven't been able to hit much at all.

Miami pitcher with a no hitter through 5 innings ..... Miami batting in the bottom of the 5th.

Double play .... Pitt gets out of the inning ...... still 0-0 .......

Fly ball to RF and Roche throws the runner on 2nd out trying to go to 3rd base ....... 0-0 at the end of 6 innings.
 
Roche breaks up the no hitter with a one out double ....

in the 7th .... Shelinsky then struck out ...... Roche on 2nd with 2 outs.
 
Vazquez strikes out to end the top of the 7th ...0-0 .. 7th inning stretch

Harris in to pitch for Harvey in the bottom of the 7th .....

Harvey pitched a terrific 6 innings ..... 5 hits, no runs, 1 walk, and 3 strike outs !

Frabasilio leads the 8th off with a single, Hess sac bunt ....

Frabasilio goes to 2nd ..... Johnson grounds out to 2B with Frabasilio staying at 2nd ...... man on 2nd with 2 outs.
 
Pazos pops up to end the inning .... Pitt doesn't score in the 8th ...

still 0-0 going to the bottom of the 8th ..... I guess Coach Jordano didn't want to pinch hit for Pazos with a runner on 2nd and 2 outs .... Pazos is the number 9 batter in the order.
 
Man on 2nd with 2 outs for Miami in the 8th ......

one out single, then with 2 outs, the catcher Pazos tried to pick the runner off 1st and made an error on the throw which allowed the runner to get to 2B.
 
Harris gets them out without scoring ... 0-0, end of 8 innings ......

NEED TO GET SOMETHING GOING HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Vranka lined out to LF, Wolsonovich popped out to RF, Roche singled...

with 2 outs in the top of the 9th.

2 out walk, stole 2nd, went to 3rd on another throwing error by the catcher.
 
STRUCK HIM OUT SWINGING .... Harris gets them out .... 0-0 to the 10th*

grounded out 1B to pitcher covering .... 0-0 going to the bottom of the 10th..... we can't score a friggin run !!!!!!!!!

For some reason Pitt sent Vazquez from LF to RF and Roche from RF..

to LF ??

Ground out to 2B, runners move up to 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs...

number 3 batter in the order up to bat .... I suspect another intentional walk will be issued.
 
Infield hit by Miami .... Pitt loses 1-0 in 10 innings ......

with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs and the number 3 hitter batting, why in the heck didn't they intentionally walk him to load the bases and have a force out at any base ????
 
Miami 1 Pitt 0, FINAL in 10 innings .....

GREAT pitching by Pitt but we couldn't hit..... TOUGH LOSS !

Coming into the season....

I figured we'd hit OK, not great but not bad, and that the pitching would be what would let us down. The reality of the situation has turned out to be mostly the opposite, at least for the conference games.

Yeah, I agree and thought pretty much the same as you ..... it turns out that our pitching this year has been good (five pitchers have ERA's
