These 2 schools prove that winning football games is more important than anything. The Rape scandals and coverup at these 2 schools is disgusting. The death penalty or their own self sanctions should have been given for the despicable actions that took place at their University, but instead next year their stadiums will be full and winning football games is all that will matter. Ironically, a good coach, who learned his craft at PS will be leading the Baylor program. Just another symbol that winning trumps all, and morals be damned.

Baylor cleaned house. That's enough. Time to move on, which is exactly what they are doing.
And doing it with a Penn State Alumnus and under a Philadelphia Law Firm oversight to establish Winning with Athletic Integrity!
No Sour Grapes just prevent the Silent Rapes!
Restore the Baylor Bears Roars by Nittany Lions Reforms!
Godspeed Matt Rhule!

How so? What consequences were given to the coaches and players who committed these disgusting crimes and/or cover up? Firing someone and giving them a severance is not a punishment. Go ahead- explain.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! You gain ZERO for being moral! Losers self sanction themselves and watch the winners accept the trophy on TV.

The Holier Than Thou Crap that Baylor preaches and PS does is exactly that - Total BS. It is Win at all costs, and winning is the only thing that matters. They should at least be honest about their agenda and not proclaim a false facade.

What kind of 'holier than thou crap' does Baylor preach? They were irrelevant for years until recently.

It is a private Baptist college who preaches Christian values and doing things the right way. It is a bunch of crap. They had Dave Bliss, Scott Drew, and Art Briles as head coaches. Holy Rollers who do not practice what they preach.

I certainly feel that both programs merited the death penalty. I doubt we ever see the NCAA death penalty again, unless those knuckleheads at Notre Dame kill off all the lepruchans...

Wow TD, that is some amazingly, short-sighted response. So relevance on the field is all that matters? The fact that Baylor touts itself as a "private Christian university and a nationally ranked research institution" while allowing the chronic issues to pervade its athletics programs is a joke and slap in the face to the Christian community.

FWIW, the Baylor University Student Conduct Code bans, among other things, the use of alcohol and illicit drugs, and pre-marital sex. Have their athletes been universally held to this standard?

I know it's a Christian school, but part of Christian vales should be to accept that you aren't better than anyone else. I haven't heard Baylor tout slogans like 'Success with Honor' or whatever.

They fired Briles & replaced him with Jim Grobe. How many others lost their jobs?

Shit happens. Deal with it and punish the people involved and move on. It's obviously set them back. To act like these schools should just disband the program or something because of the careless & irresponsible actions of a few is insane.

Present day Christians are less Christian than Atheists.

Pitt fans are self loathing and would rather lose the right way.

Dude, your "move-on" schtick is getting old. You spend lots of time defending PSU and how they've "moved on", yet criticize that, for decades, they touted "Success with Honor".

Now, within a year or so of other egregious violations, you're telling everyone that Baylor has done all they should do.. time to forgive and forget.

I'm a genuinely Christian man, seeking redemption in the fragile and flawed soul that I inhabit. I'm ALL ABOUT forgiveness.

But any orthodox Christian perspective cites penance and reflection as steps toward redemption.

Wake up.

Penance and reflection for who? That's fine for the people on the front line directly involved. For the coaches, players, and fans that have absolutely zilch to do with it? No way.

Why should next year's Baylor team be punished for Art Briles not taking sexual harassment seriously? That makes no sense.

Absolutely! Just look at Penn State, back on the cusp of the National Final 4! Nobody cares about "doing things the right way", only the saps who do things the right way are holier than though LOSERS, who are always at home watching on TV while the bad asses are at the podium being handed the trophy and saying "$how me the Money" on the way to their White House visit and the "Today Show".

So it was Art Briles committing the crimes and not the players? When coaches and PLAYERS have a systemic issue of both allowing and committing these crimes it takes more than the firing of a coach to "move on".

How many players were involved? They should have been prosecuted.
