We need to win the last 3 and have UNC lose twice. If we can somehow win all 3, UNC's schedule is pretty tough. I think they're going to go 11-1 but I could also see them losing twice. They are home with Duke, home with Miami, at VT in Beamer's last home game, and at NC State.

Duke is a better matchup for NC than we are and we matchup better with Duke than UNC.

Lets put it this way. If Duke and/or Miami beats UNC and we beat Duke, we will have everything to play for in the last 2 weeks.

That's all nice and good but if Chaney doesn't start calling a better gameplan offensively, winning any division will be a pipe dream.

At least we have something to play for! Better than just playing for bowl eligibility!

The ACC has one goal at this point: Get Clemson into the Playoff.

So here is what is most likely to happen. Clemson, if needed, will get every possible call to win out. However, Clemson is very good and won't need many calls. The conference wants the highest possible ranked team to lose to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game. At this point in time this is UNC. The conference wanted Duke to beat Miami and then have two 7-1 , North Carolina, teams play to be the sacrificial lamb in the ACC title game to Clemson. They can criticize the crew that did the Duke Miami game but of the 26 penalties called in that game 23 went against Miami including 3 PI calls on the last drive, one nullifying an interception and a bogus TD for Duke on the next to last play.

So now the Duke - UNC game is a 6-2 team vs. a 7-1 team. It's best for the conference to have UNC win, sorry Duke. UNC will finish the season no worse than 10 - 2 and most likely be 11 -1 for the ACC Championship Game The perfect ACC Championship Game: A Sold out stadium in Charlotte with a high ranked opponent for Clemson to defeat. It probably is best for the conference this year.

So Pitt vs. Duke will likely be a matchup of 2 - 6 and 3 teams, playing for Bowl position.

Pitt doesn't have a chance for the ACC Championship Game this year, even if they did.

So the ACC is going to manipulate the officiating to help Clemson win and to help Clemson face as high a ranked opponent as possible in the ACC championship game, but then when all they had to do to help make that happen was to actually call a play correctly they didn't.

You realize how completely idiotic that sounds, don't you?

It also doesn't explain why they "allowed" unranked North Carolina to beat ranked Pitt last Thursday, does it?

Agree with everything you wrote 100%

You don't have to agree. There are 5 Conferences and 4 Playoff slots. The ACC wants 1 of the playoff spots. With FSU's loss to Ga. Tech, Clemson is the ACC's playoff team this year. Actually, the SEC could be the team left out. If that happens , the media assault from ESPN will be impressive and the move to an 8 team playoff will be swift.

Open your eyes and mind and look at what is going on.

I like that we are conceding a division we are 1/2 game out of first of. UNC is going to lose at least 2 games still, as is Clemson.

Pitt could lose to Duke and still make it.

In this odd theory, if pitt upsets ND saterday they become ranked again, does that make us a good choice to be pushed into the ACc champ game?

The ACC doesn't have to worry about all this other garbage you speak of or set up this elaborate conspiracy. Clemson keeps winning & they'll be in, doesn't matter who they play in the ACC CG or where they are ranked.

Its the Pac 12 who's playoff hopes are on life support. Stanford is the only team they have left with a realistic shot of getting in & those hopes damn near died at Wazzu last night.

My eyes and mind are open. I can clearly see and comprehend that this conspiracy theory is completely and utterly moronic.

Why would the ACC rather have 7-1 Duke against 7-1 North Carolina to pump up Clemson when they had the possibility of 8-1 Duke playing 8-1 Pitt to pump them up? We were already ranked when we played North Carolina. They were not. The team that would theoretically help Clemson the most by winning was us, not North Carolina. If we had gone undefeated the rest of the way we would have been playing Clemson at 11-1 and easily ranked in the top 10. Because of the Notre Dame game there is NO team in the Coastal that had a chance at a higher ranking that us. In fact, we most likely still have the highest ceiling of any team in the Coastal, even after the North Carolina loss.

If this was all just an attempt to set up Clemson to play the highest ranked teams possible then the refs should have been cheating in our favor. That's why you theory makes no sense. Quite literally, no sense.

The conference wants the highest possible ranked team to lose to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game.
Then why did they give Carolina every break for the first 58 minutes last Thursday when we were already ranked and 4-0 in ACC? Couldn't they just let us win and we'd end up the highest ranked team in the Coastal? I don't necessarily think you're wrong, but why have an unranked team beat a ranked team and just start the whole process of moving up in the rankings over?
