Stating the obvious here, but having Virginia in the opener is the biggest opening game for Pitt that I can recall. Yes, FSU in 2013, but in terms of winning the Coastal, this game is huge. UVA has been getting a lot of national love and I'm not sure why. I think Perkins is a good QB, but nothing special. A couple things that worry me: Pitt always seems slow out of the gate, they have a new offensive coordinator (even though he should be better, adjusting to a new OC sometimes takes time, and the lack of experience at OL is troubling for the opener against a team that many think is going to win the Coastal.
Win this game and Pitt is in great position, but lose it and it will be a hard road to comeback from and Pitt will need a lot of help throughout the season.
