Not sure, but a technical can be assessed for anything negative regardless of how egregious. Typically a player asking for an explanation is fine, but negative body language is often t’d up.
If I understand correctly, you are thinking about a different T that occurred later in the game.
Those 2 technicals ended up being big factors yesterday, too. Sounded like Hinson's mouth caused the first one. And it changed the momentum early. His 3 put us up 7-5. ND hits the 2 shots and gets another bucket to take the lead. Capel needed to keep his cool instead of getting T'd up. But those 2 T's = 4 ND points.
I can explain it. Overofficious ref. Blake supposedly dropped an F bomb directed at Elliot. These refs sometimes want to be part of the game, like calling a jump ball when the ND player put Nellie in a bear hug.
Was Hinson saying something to the ND bench?
I’m OK with the second T. We get mugged on the prior play, no call. Fede didn’t even touch the guy on the other end and it’s called a foul.
Can we please just all agree that officiating in college sports is horrible? It always is and always will be. But we didn't lose the game because of the usual poor officiating.
Who cares? You're taking this stuff way too seriously. The game is over, thankfully. On to the next one. No explanations are needed for some technical foul from last night.
