Chris Payton, who flashed exceptional leaping ability but only scored 10 points all season for Pitt last year, had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and a key monster dunk as Kent State defeated a Toledo team that had won 17 straight and won the MAC championship. Kent State was led by Duquesne transfer Sincere Carry from Farrell, who had 26. Good for both of them.
