I always thought Pompeani was fair to Pitt, but on tonight's KDKA sports show he devoted two segments to yesterday's Penguins win over a poor team and then covered a lot of high school football, a quick note about Pitt basketball game tonight but not one mention of the Pitt football game tomorrow. I noticed lately that he has not been as "kind" to Pitt as he once was but gives great coverage to hockey which is just starting while Pitt football in the midst of their season gets very little. Maybe he is leaving it to Walsh.

NST he was pro-PITT Wednesday.

He's a jagoff Meitner way. He's like Kent Brockman from the Simpsons in terms of his inflated opinion of himself.

Weird thread.

No media member/outlet is more Pitt friendly than Pompeani/KDKA.

If you want to bitch about Ron Cook or Stan Savran, you have a point. Those two are longtime unabashed Pitt haters. Pompeani is basically the exact opposite of those guys in that regard.

No I don't see see that, I have seen Pompeani totally ignore Pitt several times

You are really reaching on this one. Friday night is high school football night. That is where most of the coverage goes.

In all seriousness, I agree with this.

I've never gotten an anti-Pitt vibe from listening to Pomp's show on the Fan. He seems like one of the more level-headed sports guys out there. He just isn't a homer.

Those guys at ROOTS and KDKA 93.7 ALWAYS talk twice as much hockey as anything else. PITT should drop 93.7 as its flagship station.

No matter how bad or boring penguins hockey is (which it is) it will always be more popular than Pitt athletics.
Same goes for the steelers.
Just a larger market for both teams.

Pompeani's first hour today was all Pitt / Narduzzi talk. There are a few local media types that are not fair with Pitt, Bob is certainly not one of them..

Pomp is very pro-Pitt and more than fair.

Much of (not all) the criticism leveled at Pitt is earned....but there is a clear distinction between guys like Pompeani and guys like Cook and Poni...

One is fair and level headed....the others go out of their way to be offensive.

Pitt fans lose credibility on what is otherwise a very fair complaint regarding local media treatment when they complain about guys like Bob Pompeani.

He's clearly a Pitt guy or at very least fair and neutral.

Dumbest statement ever. Anyone around before Mario knows the pens got a thousand per game and they
couldn't give tickets away, same with the steelers and Noll and Bradshaw. If you win pgh fans love you

There is a certain level of immaturity of some Pitt fans, so much so they think that if any outlet in the media isn't Pitt 24-7, that they are anti Pitt. It is almost like, wah, wah, wah, I need some attention so I will bitch about some perceived anti bias against Pitt.

Ron Cook is on our flagship station and someone wants to say another Pittsburgh reporter is not being fair to Pitt? Pompeani is one of the few who seems to actually be somewhat of a Pitt fan more than any other school IMO.
