Brandon Knight

Sad to say it but he doesn't even recruit well enough to keep him on as assistant, let alone head coach.

Seems like a nice guy. Not a very good coach. If Dixon leaves, the only acceptable option in my view is a big name hire who is currently a very successful head coach on a major college level with extensive experience. Marshall, for example. Hiring an assistant or someone who isn't a proven commodity yet is asking for trouble. It's going to be hard enough to replace the best coach we have at Pitt, let alone asking him to be as successful as Dixon was here.

Is he our top assistant? I know he is the top assistant listed on the website. That says more about our program than anything else. I like Brandin, but what has he done to deserve being Jamie's right hand man?

Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Brandin has not shown himself to be a competent coach at all. AT ALL.

Great former player. NOTHING as a coach.
Not gonna happen, and shouldn't happen, for many reasons-but how do you or any other poster know what kind of coach he is or would be? What is your basis for bashing him as a coach?

The reason Knight's Dixon's top so called assistant is money. The university gets around 19 million from the ACC each year up around 15 million from the days in the Big East. At Pitt will not increase his budget so he can hire top assistants that can recruit and coach the style that is the ACC. LOOK around and check out some of the ex coaches that are assistants that were ar pitt annd see what they make. Do you thin Slice is makeing 350 -400 thousand a yr at St Johns A head coach is only as good as his assistant coaches and recruiters. NO big name coach would even think of coming to Pitt. and for Knight as head coach, He couldn't be a head coach on the high school level

Agree...lets just go out a get a great head coach...wave the magic wand!

Does anyone else notice the comparison between the Jamie Dixon saga and Buzz Williams?

Both coaches left or are leaving solid basketball programs to go to schools known more for their football.

Both moves to the outside world, appeared to be head scratchers.

But Williams has turned the corner at Virginia Tech....... and if Jamie leaves, he will do well with the universitys support as well as the local talent in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex

BRANDON Knight plays in the NBA. BRANDIN Knight is the renaissance man of Pitt basketball, as he's been called. I was such a huge Brandin fan when he played I might actually be somewhat excited about the tough type of kids he could recruit. But, I really don't know if they would go with an assistant the way things are at this exact moment. It definitely would not create any buzz at all around the program.
