It's only the first game of the year, and I already want to stab my ears with an ice pick after listening to Brent Musburger for 3.5 quarters.

I like Musburger but I think he goes overboard with his player family stories. OK, so the App St QB's dad coaches Mercer and his mom is a photographer for App St. You told me once, that's enough, I dont need to be reminded of this every 15 minutes, its not that great of a story.
He's better in Cars 2 and Planes as Brent Mustangberger...thank God he's only doing SEC games
lol - I lost my ability to stomach him a quarter century ago, literally.
I can count on both hands the number of games I have watched that he has announced since the 90s.
Seriously, only NC type games, major bowls or whatever and it REALLY helps to be sauced up pretty good.
He's gotta be 90! He as hosting the NFL Today, CBS pregame show with Phyllis George and Irv Cross in the early '70s in his plaid suit.
In the past I disliked him. But I guess I've gotten mellow in my older years. I think he does a good job.
I can handle Brent in small doses Jesse Palmer is down right awful we ought to have a drinking game every time Jesse says what an athletic move or he's a real athlete. After listening to him last night he said it enough times I wouldn't have woken up until Monday

I love the clips where Musburger introduces Aaron Donald as Aaron walks through the tunnel. That's cool at least.

I cant tell if you guys just over exaggerate or are all just insane.. I've watched so many sports games, football games in my life and I have never been truly disgusted or even that annoyed at the announcer.. I mean, I've listened to a lot of bad ones but really, is it that bad? To me, madden and that old buzzard he used to do nfc games with was as bad as it could get, but I still watched the games, didn't want to stick anything in my ears..

I like him because of his two memorable Pitt comments.
1) When Fitz made the over the head coach against A and M and he said "Oh My What a catch by Larry Fitzgerald"
2) When Conner scored against ND and Brent said "It looks like Pitt found their big back."

Brent must have been hitting the bottle last night. He started out saying "Appalatchan" and ended up saying "Appalachian"
