just a couple of observations: first, he read Watson's eyes and slid right in front of the receiver for the pick--good smart play. Second, and most impressive, he was FLYING while running with the ball. Mike Williams, a very fast guy himself, BARELY caught up enough to make a desperation dive at Brightwell's heels. He showed great speed for a LB.

Impressive, and encouraging. We will start to see some more athletic players at LB over the next couple of years.

Great post! Brightwell has impressive instincts for such a young player, who will likely only get better with more playing time. His ability to quickly diagnose the play, and the speed he brings to the table in order to make the play, has been fun to watch so far. This next game against Duke should provide him with another great test against a QB who has shown the ability take off on the run when needed. Brightwell is that player who can come in and fill the gap.
