Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente can do something Thursday night that his predecessor, the legendary Frank Beamer, never did in this century: win a game at Heinz Field. But even if Fuente is successful in that quest — and his Hokies are 4-point favorites against Pitt — he will not match another more remarkable Beamer achievement: recruit 27 sets of brothers to Virginia Tech in 29 years. “It says a lot about their program and what they're trying to do,” said Pitt wide receivers coach Kevin Sherman, who was on Beamer's staff from 2006-2012............... The Edmunds come from strong bloodlines. Father Ferrell, who coached his sons at Dan River High School in Ringgold, Va., was an All-ACC tight end at Maryland and Dan Marino's two-time Pro Bowl tight end with the Miami Dolphins. Mother Felecia ran hurdles at Southern Illinois.
