A seven-point defeat at Clemson means the best-case scenario for Pitt is arriving at the ACC tournament with work to be done. Winning out, if it happens, at Boston College and at home against Florida State and NC State won't be enough by itself to put Jeff Capel's team into the projected field. If there's good news here it's that Pitt's metrics are stronger than suggested by the position mock brackets are giving it.
