Burton seemed a little unhinged

Sure puzzling to wonder what he was thinking on those 2 lower the shoulder and attack offensive foul calls unless he thought he was an OL in FB. And he actually reacted with disbelief on the 1st one, not quite as bad in the 2nd one.

It’s definitely a physical game on the inside more so than the perimeter and we all know he’s inside a lot either driving to the hoop or backing down his defender. So. Guess it was just him getting into the intensity of the game down the stretch.

I just wish he’d get back to his form of earlier in the season. He’s still pretty good with the mud-range jumper or floater in and around the key. But his drives to the basket, earlier in the year he was automatic with them but now he misses many, usually putting them up a little too hard off the glass.

Let’s get that early season form back for good ACC and NCAA tourney runs. We’ll need it.

Down the stretch . Got overly physical perhaps frustrated imho.
He's been played very tough for many games now. He's having a more difficult time. And we run those sets that aren't sets, they're just Burton. And he forces it when he doesn't get it, but forcing it alot of times works for him.

But it's getting much more difficult for him

“Unhinged” is a little much. Just needs to play smarter with a short memory. Seems like some negative things snowball.

I dunno, those 2 lower the shoulder and boom offensive fouls when you don’t have the ball were a little unhinged. If not unhinged, definitely stupid.

I think he was expecting for the Miami player to bump him back on that one. Seemed like he was expecting contact and a collision, and instead the Miami guy backed off and took the brunt of it instead.

The bad Burton happens when he decides to go one one one, when it's just not there. Too many offensive fouls, and the occasional turnovers from getting stuck.

He is great when he takes what is available. Unfortunately, sometimes he doesn't realize a pass is the smart available play.

But, without his play this year, this team would have been closer to 14th place than 5th.

How does Burton play nearly the entire game and only have 1 rebound?

Fede's play has slumped, but

Burton and Hinson need to pitch in a bit more on the boards.

Absolutely

Those offensive fouls were mostly the refs grandstanding to the home crowd. The entire game was at least as physical as those two instances and gleefully allowed by the officials. Nowhere near the ball, not affecting play at all, so totally unnecessary calls and he happened to be the guy victimized. Such is the state of officiating though.

Overall, Burton feels the need to take over when others aren’t, for better or worse. Elliot’s disappearance has led to some of this, and the others were definitely hesitant to pull the trigger as well.

Those absolutely impact play. He's simultaneously trying to create space to get the ball and throw the defender off balance to where he's a step slow to recover.

Lol. He definitely wasn't victimized. It would be malfeasance to not blow the whistle there.

Unhinged is that kid from SEMO just straight punching his opponent. Ya dude was being a dumbbell as well but to throw a punch. Unhinged

The fact that some Pitt fans question such clear and obvious foul calls shows the level of derangement we've gotten to with the referees.

He had one earlier against Wong that wasn’t called. I like that our team plays with emotion but I wish at times they were better at reigning it in

Was impressed with Wong’s demeanor throughout. Seemed pretty unflappable.

He’s playing with some very sore knees. Lots of minutes and wear and tear. As for that game yesterday the officiating was pretty inconsistent both ways and I’m being kind but there’s no league or refs on Earth that wouldn’t have called those 2x fouls on JB yesterday.

I’d actually agree. But only because most officials are uniformly inconsistent.

I’ll agree with you on the sore knees. 100% disagree on the 2 offensive foul calls. Both were pretty blatant, don’t know how any ref wouldn’t call them.

I mean he's pitched in a lot in most other games rebounding right? I seem to recall he had 6 or 7 offensive rebounds alone against Syracuse last Saturday. Fede is our rim protector and big guy. If he chooses all of a sudden not to box out which has been happening a lot lately what can they do? That 1 board Omier got Fede was right there and did nothing and let Omier grab that offensive board. It was shameful.
