BWI: Not too thrilled with Narduzzi

I like it. As much BS as their coach wants to talk, PSU was absolutely unpreared, resulting in a solid butt kicking last weekend.

Temple was able to force 10 sacks, one of which with only 2 DL applying pressure.

Furthermore, if I was a QB or RB, there is no way I'd want to rely on that OL to make pays.

Apparently all he said was that his offensive line did a pretty good job pass-blocking. Think he hit a nerve out at State Farm?
This is getting interesting.

It's not everyday that we get to witness a QB who was projected (as a freshmen) to be a future Heisman contender and high round draft choice get coached-down so badly that the QB's family is making negative public comments (link below).

Funny comment from the Nitter saying Narduzzi should accomplish something before running his mouth.

Most could say the same for Franklin. After all, Narduzzi at least has been part of some kind of championship.

Specifically, where did Narduzzi say anything about PSU? It applies to them and many other teams this past weekend. Hmmmmmm.......touched a nerve in the Valley of Happiness?

It was more than once.

I don't really care what he says, as long as he wins, but pretty short sighted to start throwing stones (and he clearly was) when you are a defensive coach who has clear trouble with an FCS team. I mean, we gave up 400+ yards and 30 points to Youngstown State.

Narduzzi is the man! Finally a Pitt coach with some b@lls to go at Penn State. Narduzzi may not have the mouth of Franklin but he is pretty good with his little one-liners. The "I never beg" was a classic. He ruffled feathers on Columbus calling Braxton Miller the best RB they ever faced and said they copied his defense.

This is college football which marketing, self-promotion, and propoganda rule the day. Franklin gets it. So does Narduzzi. I'm not sure if either is a good head coach but they are entertaining as heck.

Is there a podcast for this? Cant find it on The Fan's page.

What's this "if Pitt played Temple " nonsense....?the last time Pitt played Temple it was 47-17...Pitt...

Do they have any other bright retorts on that board?

I saw Narduzzis PC....he has no problem throwing shots at the media for not paying attention...he did it again this week....hillarious...

As to the paranoid basket case bunch in happy valley please address problems with your own coaches ...OL coaches starting twitter wars with Pitt coaches and other assorted sloganering and happy horsecrap before crying in this embarassing, yet, decidedly Paternoesque manner...

Pitt-Girl nails it! The BWI Cultists brought up Narduzzi more than anything Narduzzi brought up on Penn State? This shows the Cult is worried now about Franklin's Coaching and soon Narduzzi's coaching will be preferred by Recruits as Franklin struggles to beat Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Maryland and other Big Ten Programs!

I know soon the Media will directly ask Pitt's Coach Pat Narduzzi if he meant or was mentioning Penn State about the Offensive Line Blocking and what does he think about Franklin's coaching????

And Narduzzi will respond with class like any opposing coach, providing compliments and talking about how tough a job any Head coach has and wishes them all well except when they play Pitt, and that includes Franklin!

As Zeise pointed out on last Sunday KDKA Sports Show, the top College Football Program dominating the State of Pennsylvania is Temple right now, and it was Franklin that boasted and brought all this back on himself, his staff, players, program and Penn State as an university no one else.

The Fans and Cult are upset about it so they strike out other people, coaches, and programs instead of their own?

"Franklin is big on cliches and mottoes, one of which is "Dominate the State." Franklin considers Maryland and New Jersey to be part of Pennsylvania for recruiting purposes, and he has done a good job of dominating those areas when it comes to selling himself and Penn State, bringing the charisma he has always shown at press conferences and public speaking events.

But despite the talent differential, Franklin clearly isn't going to dominate his state on the field this year, and he's already lost to both Temple and Marylandtwo programs, combined, with less than half the tradition of Penn State—since he arrived in State College."....It appears a number of former Penn State players, some of whom played for Franklin, think otherwise.

During and after the Temple loss, some former players called out the offensive coaching staff, and the offensive performance in general. Former offensive lineman Donovan Smith, who left for the NFL after last season, said "this is the exact reason" why he departed. Former defensive lineman Tyrone Smith was more direct about what he thinks the issues are: "Best players should play no matter what. That politic stuff is what gets you 21d by Temple!"....

This is a legitimate criticism. How has Franklin not developed his linemen or wide receivers? How has quarterback Christian Hackenberg—whose brother also called out Penn State's offensive game plan following the Temple loss—seemingly regressed ever since Franklin got to campus? How the hell can this talent collectively be this bad?

I said back when he was hired and spouted off at the mouth that he is putting himself in a tough spot. He must win or it will get ugly, and it will happen quickly.

When you make statements of what you will do, you had better do those things. He's not at Vandy where winning a few games against crap teams will get you an extension. They want more.

O'Brien had the luxury of only having to win 6 or 7 games. Franklin won't, especially with only a few good teams on the schedule each year. The sanctions are over and he has supposedly recruited well (you never know how good a player is until they play).

If he loses games to either Rutgers, Pitt, Maryland, or Temple (whoops) "Dominate the State" will be thrown back in his face and he'll have to answer to it. He won't be able to avoid questions from reporters. Philly reporters won't let him. If he loses games, the Central PA Joebot reporters will start to question him, too.

After his 14th game coaching at PSU he was asked for his response when people say he can recruit and motivate and not coach. Not a good week for Coach Chestbump.

Agree, this program SO needs some edge ...

The most amazing thing about this photo is

One person had to deal with a serious rape case in which he asked girls to "recruit" players....it ended in predictable disaster...

Another is credited with destroying the academic rep of the previous Ath Dept...awful graduation rates...and was an overall disaster at Cal....

The third....? Presided over the Jamis Winston saga.....nuff said.

#1....?....pffffttttt......

So dominate the state is okay, but Narduzzi talking about his team blocking well and some teams didn't is clearly a huge insult? You clowns are absolute morons
Who said either was smart? Of course "Dominate the State" is much more general than what CPN is clearly doing.

Folks on here are so transparently biased without logic, it is absolutely no different than the PSU boards. Everything they do is stupid and over the top and cultish and arrogant. Pitt/Narduzzi does it? "Nothing to see here. Completely different than Franklin."

If you think one is stupid, shortsighted, or arrogant, why is the other not? Just because of the sweater/pullover the coach is wearing?

Pitt/Narduzzi should have some edge, but if you are going to do it, you better win and you better back it up. Otherwise you are no better and the fans who vilify one and puff their chest about the other are moronic homers, who are no different than those JoeBots in Happy Valley.

Unless you can get inside Narduzzi's mind, which in fact no one can, you can't know his exact intent with that quote. And it was a response to a question that was asked of him. The fact that the Nitters got all defensive about it is what is thrilling me right now.

he's supposed to hitting a nerve with them whether he intends to do with a particular comment or not

Sure. Come the hell on. We all know what he meant and who it was directed towards. And there is no problem with him saying it, as long as he puts the action behind it. However, it is the exact same (maybe even more pointed) as the "dominate the state" stuff Pitt fans get so wedgied about.
