Predictably, BWI is in denial mode over the Paterno news last night. Deny, deny, deny. Defend, defend, defend.

Their comments can be grouped as follows:
1) This new info didn’t come out until now. Therefore, it can’t be true.

2) The word “allegedly” means nothing. Without proof, it must be garbage.

3) This is an evil plot by the BOT, who allegedly were out to get Joe. However, the word allegedly has a whole different meaning when applied to the BOT conspiracy theories. Any bizarre speculation that paints the BOT as the enemy of Paterno is accepted as gospel truth. Unlike with evidence against Paterno, no proof is required. Hell, they don’t even need actual evidence; wild speculation is enough.
The jist here, is that the BOT leaked this. No evidence of course, nothing even alleged.

4) And then there is the morally bankrupt view of “JoeDidn’tKnow”.
“JoePa did everything that was legally required. He was under no obligation to do anything else. Why is it so hard for people to understand that? “
He’s missing the entire point. The world doesn’t care about what “was legally required.” He is judged for his moral failure to take action that would have stopped it. Even Paterno accepted blame, when he said “I should’ve done more.” Yes, the world agrees, and that is why is reputation is what is today.
Why is that so hard for JoeDidn’tKnow to understand?
