Up by 4, in control and started burning clock w 4 minutes to go.
This is all in the coach, not the kids.

Oh please. Give Wisky some credit here. There doesn't always have to be a goat.

Not sure who is more responsible, but after how close that ND game was, you had to think UK wasn't as strong as everyone thought. Perhaps an easier trip through the SEC (vs. a stronger conference) came back to bite them.

Bo has a tough job bringing that team back after all this emotion for the next game.

Sad how Bo outrecruits Dixon with all the talent in wisky- although Bo struck lightening 10x bc he will never find another decker and kaminsky

In the game I watched, KY came back from a big hole by playing tough Defense and pushing on offense. But go back to when KY gets ball back up 4 after a Wisky miss and tell me he didn't "pull the ball out"...

And yes, huge props to Wisconsin!! But Calipari helped...

Wisconsin doesn't even recruit particularly well in terms of stars. It's why I don't understand why people point to schools like Wisconsin as recruiting well and then they wring their hands over 5-stars.

Get guys you can coach up and it can be just as effective as a team full of hotshot youngsters.

Tough to blame Calipari for this game. Getting abused on the boards falls on the players.

Besides Harrison and Towns, Kentucky has no offensive threat; maybe Booker. They typically count on steals or offensive rebounds and put backs. Cauley-Stein has zero offensive ability besides alley oops.

They do play good defense, but ND and Wisky spread them out and made them defend the perimeter because they can shoot from 3 point range. UK is athletic as hell, but they do not have the most basketball skills.

Exactly my thoughts. How do you come down and then pick it up after such a tough emotional win. Especially after how they lost to Kentucky last year. Now you have to go up against the media darlings of Duke who will also get the calls. Okafor v Kaminsky is worth the price of the ticket alone.

You really think Ryan will have a tough time getting a veteran team focused for a game where a national championship is at stake?

I don't know. But I can say the emotions following this game were close or equal to winning the NC, so I have to believe it will be more difficult for them vs. Duke, that's all. Bo Ryan and this team have done a masterful job so far. But Duke seems to be peaking at the right time also. Will be a great battle on Monday.

I can't put anything on Cal ...

... not to pull an "I told you so" but this one ended up just as I thought it would.

Wisconsin's experience made the difference.

Re: I can't put anything on Cal ...

You can't really take anything away from either coach/team that lost tonight, but I even heard Jay Bilas say that he thought KY's offense began "stagnant"... To me, it looked like they deflated the ball and tried to run clock. I bet if he had a second chance to call the game, Calipari would have keep playing, attacking, just as he did to overcome the deficit he faced.

You must not watch much sports uci. In every timed sport, every coach does that at the end of a game they are leading.

At a certain lead/time remaining combo, yes. Up 4 with 5 minutes left is not the time. Awful coaching.

This. Perfect summary.

Certainly true the last two minutes. KY was unable to mount a coherent offense and made some unforced errors to throw the ball away. Freshmen and sophomores make mistakes, whether they are 5-stars or 3 stars.

I'd like to think our sophomores will improve as upperclassmen like Wisconsin's have. Obviously, getting a player who grows from 6-3 to 7-foot makes a difference. But Ryan's style is very similar to Dixon's and the upside might be similar.
