Can Lyke fire White and not Capel?

Performances seem to be at basically the same level.- Very Bad - Hard to differentiate
Based on performance, both should be fired immediately. And considering how other schools all over the country have money out there floating around with fired coaches that were fired with buyouts, Pitt can do the same thing. In fact in Capel's case, he's outlived his welcome. He should be gone right now. Let truckster doofus put up the buyout money.

Good question. I don't follow women's basketball but I doubt Lyke will do anything. I've accepted the fact that we're stuck with Capel for at least one more year.

They aren't firing him now.
If he has another year next year like he did this year the only thing that the long leash is going to get him is something to hang himself with.
If my math is correct, The men and womens teams have combined for 29 ACC wins in 4 years. Wow…
In my mind, which doesn't count I'm sure, Capel would have to get at least 8 ACC wins and have an over 0.500 overall record with 18 total wins minimum. It's not going to happen. He has to have players to do that and he doesn't have them.
Regarding the players, I feel bad for them. They didn't ask for this debacle and Capel sold them on a bill of goods. They're getting a free education and that's good. But the ridicule and disgust they're subjected to isn't called for. If they all left, it would be understandable.
That's my point. He has to stay out of it, or at the very least the administration listens to him and dismisses his opinion.
Ah, I think you missed the fact that we weren't talking about Jeff Capel, we were talking about Lance White.
The OP also suggested the firing of Capel without White being fired. That was what I was posting about. So yes, we were also talking about Capel.
