Can we talk about the talent disparity?

I agree the officiating has been iffy, and the coaching questionable too (why not run more?) but man the players are looking bad. Even Boyd is looking bad. Dropped passes, lack of execution. As I'm typing this, Maddox fumbles a kickoff.

Meanwhile, Fuller looks amazing. Their OL is outstanding. QB out for the year? No problem, got a big-time 6'4 super athlete to fill in. Notre Dame gets big injuries, but next man up (while seemingly bs) really does seem to apply just fine for them. I found it funny too how I had no idea Torii Hunter had a kid who was an athlete, and of course he plays for Notre Dame. Oh yeah, they get a starting safety back in the 2nd half, too.

We don't run because this is what Chaney does with too much freedom...PASS!!! He coached Purdue's gimmicky offense for efff sakes!

Anyone who thinks Paul Chryst was going to win here should review this game tape and shut up.

Yeah, the lack of pressure on Kizer at times and leaving Fuller open is bad, but they did force a few 3 and outs that resulted in the offense just squandering it. So I would place more blame on the offense right now for sure.

It all comes back to the coaches..

We have the players on O to score 30 a game even with JC out.

Well, I'm not saying the coaching and maybe to a certain extent the officiating aren't also to blame. ND made some mistakes and Pitt has had chances to capitalize, but hasn't. Settled for a FG. INT while in scoring range. A couple 3 and outs. Why? Where are the receivers? Boyd and the TE's are talented too, but simply not playing well. Attributable to coaching, throwing all the time and not running? Won't deny that.

It's a host of variables leading to our struggles so far. I think (hope) the O will be better in the 2nd half. Can it get much worse?

Jordan Whitehead - there's some talent. I mean they have more, but it's not like we lack it. Honestly, my motivation for making this post was largely Fuller and their OL's domination (and all the coaching/ref complaining - valid though I understand). Their D is good too, but our O can do better than that stupid first half performance.

Temple is an extremely tough team to stay in a game with this team for 60 minutes, but that kind of validated their 27-10 beat down of PSU. (Should have been 34-10 but Rhule was classy at the end to take 3 kneees.)

I wonder if that's what the Temple fans were talking about last week too.

What's to talk about? Everyone knew going in that ND has a lot more talent than Pitt.

Ok, guess it goes without saying then. It's just a comment. Still (sorta) hanging in there anyway

Narduzzi talks the talk , and we all love it, but he is supposed to be an defensive guru. Back it up coach!

Well let me just put it this way: it was a team loss. Offense didn't execute early, defense had a litttle stretch in the first half forcing some three and outs... but yeah giving up this many TD's and not forcing any TO's, forget it.

Exactly...this was a dismantling, Narduzzi needs to stfu and worry about Pitt. Ya we like it because he talks shit but at some point you need to back it up

Nothing wrong with the coaching. You have to take chances when you don't have the talent. Narduzzi will get this turned around.
